  1. I have been riding off and on for 30 plus years. I think the dumbest and most deadly thing I see going on today it the "Weekend Hot Shots/Dare Devils†doing stunts like riding the back wheel or shooting gaps on a freeway. I enjoy being in town or on the freeway and hearing the sound of several riders throttling up in a group. Makes ones heart race I'll tell you, but when you have ten to twenty bikes and some jerk is going to show everyone his stunts well he is endangering himself and others around him. Bikers do not have to die in proportion to the numbers they can survive in proportion to their abilities and good sense. In fact anybody that is impressed by a street riding dare devil is as dumb as the rider. Also remember when you are out there showing off you are endangering your mothers child, your children’s parents and maybe just maybe if you are real lucky they will be able to push your wheel chair around instead of watching you die or live years as a vegetable when they could have been enjoying life with you. Riding is great and yes accidents happen but stupid is on purpose. Ride Safe Ride Long Anybody ever ask that cop how many kids he helped scape off the road?
  2. Thank God you are alive to write about it. Would it be best to try that stuff off road somewhere? I see a lot of fearless riders doing High Speed stands on the freeways and just try to keep traffic far enough back so the pieces won't get run over.
  3. I learned years ago (in a cycle mag) and it has saved my life a saying I pass along to my children "if you ever have an accident it was your fault, no matter who the law says is at fault, you can avoid an accident you drive defensively." All arguments stop when I say "it is your fault for not driving defensively if you crash" Maybe hard to swallow but it may save their life. I try to always ride as though the other drivers (cars and trucks) are really out there to get me or at best could care less about a motorcycle rider. Hope this thought helps save a life because bikes never win against cars and trucks no matter who is legally at fault. Enjoy a safe and happy summer. If it sounds like an old man talking, it is and how do you think I have been riding this many years?
  4. Oh but I have plenty of time to sit and look for Goldwing stuff while I wait
  5. What bike are you looking for? I bought my Goldwing in Sept 06 rode it one time put it in storage and herniated a disk in December. Just had surgery last Friday and am still waiting (1-3 months) to get on it again. I feel your pain. So I go out each day start it and sigh and that's all I can do for now. Good Luck
