Of the breeds most often involved in incidents of sufficient severity

to be listed, pit bull terriers are noteworthy for attacking adults almost

as frequently as children. This is a very rare pattern: children are

normally at greatest risk from dogbite because they play with dogs more

often, have less experience in reading dog behavior, are more likely to

engage in activity that alarms or stimulates a dog, and are less able to

defend themselves when a dog becomes aggressive. Pit bulls seem to differ

behaviorally from other dogs in having far less inhibition about attacking

people who are larger than they are. They are also notorious for attacking

seemingly without warning, a tendency exacerbated by the custom of docking

pit bulls' tails so that warning signals are not easily recognized. Thus

the adult victim of a pit bull attack may have had little or no opportunity

to read the warning signals that would avert an attack from any other dog.

I know this is a pitt bull thread, but this is also on Rott's since their my dog of choice, and they also face similar discrimination.

Rottweilers by contrast show a fairly normal child/adult attack

ratio. They seem to show up disproportionately often in the mauling,

killing, and maiming statistics simply because they are both quite popular

and very powerful, capable of doing a great deal of damage in cases where

bites by other breeds might be relatively harmless.

This I believe whole heartedly, Having owned 2 of them, both small females (one 98lbs and the other 110lbs), I'd say this is 100% accurate. Even messing around with them it's pretty clear they have no concept of how strong they really are. One of mine bit the mail man. Supposedly. It wasn't the regular guy, it was a stand in, and knowing the dogs as I did, they were just out to play with him and probably did bite him only to play, not in an aggressive manner, if that was the case, as I told him, He'd probably be missing his hand. It was only a scrape that broke the skin, as I said, they are very powerfull dogs. Add to this their blood line of guard/work dogs and IMHO they are great protectors. They have very calm, passive attitudes but if you trespass on their territory, or invade their home aggressively, they are out to kill, and from what I've seen them do to ground hogs, they rather enjoy it

HOWEVER, stay on the dogs good side, let it know your in charge and keep that role and they are excellent dogs. they are very loyal and very gentle and kind. of course I think this goes without saying for any dog, and in turn it all goes back to how their raised.

This town is full of idiots and honest to god I think my friend Rick and I are the only two who I know ALWAYS go out with a helmet/gloves/jacket, and I even wear my pants 99.995% of the time. If I'm going somewhere nice and have to wear decent pants, and won't have an opportunity to change, I'll wear my jeans/pants but I'm nervous as mouse in a snake pit the whole time.

I was out today and I passed ONE person (besides Tonya and I on my bike) wearing a helmet out of the probably 75 or so bikes, and she was only wearing a half helmet and on the back of a full dresser Hardley.

green is pointless, there is no actual proof of global warming. The "change" in global temps they say is happening isnt even beyond the margin of error. And with this years cold weather, we've eliminated that all together. I pretty much did that with my bike. I took a hole saw, put it over the inner pipe (Stock 'Busa exhaust has an inner actual pipe, and an outer stainless cover) and sawed through the case, then I took the plasma, cut the pipe off below the plate, and shoved that pipe off to the side with a crow bar. no you can see straight through the can. Allot of people like it, it's very aggressive without being obnoxiously loud.

Actually I picked up a new helmet I've been using my friends extra all this year since I dropped my bike and messed up mine last year. I'm pretty happy with it, fit seems nice and I like the graphics on it too,

An 03 750 with clean title in very good condition is worth at least $5k Heck even a 03 600 clean title and Goood condition is worth about $4.5k

Now if it was a race prepped 03 750 and raced then I could see $3k. Hell I sold my 03 race prepped 600 crashed twice for $3k last december.

maybe where you guys live, here, that bike is worth 3500 at best, i paid 7k for a 04 busa with less than 5k on the clock. IMHO that is an 03 750, $3500 at best. i looked at a dozen of them before I bought mine. last year they weren't worth 5800.

Potential Units Affected: Not Specified

Problem: Kawasaki is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 ‘Ninja’ ZX14 motorcycles. The rear suspension can collapse when a crossmember separates from the frame. Failure of the frame could result in the rear of the motorcycle collapsing creating the possibility of a crash resulting in injury or death.

Corrective Action: Dealers will check the torque of the engine mount adjusting collars and inspect and possibly replace the frame if necessary. The recall was expected to begin during May 2008. Owners may contact Kawasaki at 1-866-802-9381.
