  1. Twins on an inline, 1.3L engine is ridiculous. You went from 4 firing events per turbo every 720 degrees, to just two, effectively killing manifold pressure. It would take longer to build boost since exhaust isn't a steady pressure, it's a pulse generated by rising pistons. once that valve closes, pressure drops untill then next valve opens, piston starts to rise. If you take that from 4 pulses per 2 revoloutions, to 2, your only getting a single pressure wave with every rotation of the engine.

Not to mention using a turbo small enough, with a small enough turbine/housing to make it work, would leave very little drive to spin an even half way decent compressor wheel. Especially on a motor that spins to 11k, your going to expect such a small turbo to work over such a broad RPM range it just isn't going to be much fun to drive. Lag would be a bitch, and it would come in very fast, and abrupt, and max out well before redline.

Most twin setups are that way because of a "V" motor, and yes, it keeps the manifold short and hot, and minimizes lag. Also on a motor over 5.0 liters, it breaks it up so you can have a more streetable engine. boost would come in smoother and at a lower RPM, with less exhaust restriction using a pair of med sized turbos, VS 1 large frame turbo.

If anyone is seriously interested, theirs a book called "Maximum Boost" by Corkey Bell that is an excellent resource for Turbo information, both setup and theory

  2. 160mph! wow, I hope their chasing a 250, or an early 90's 600! any liter bike is gonna laugh at 160, then keep on walking. Seriously though I'd be scared to death to take a Hardley up over 80mph. That and I have a hard time beleiving that a 70hp HD, with a wet weight of over 900lbs, and a 4sq/ft air brake (windscreen) will reach 160mph. Mid 90's 600's had about 90 hp, were a shit ton more aerodynamic, and about half the weight and they'd barely reach 150. I'm callin BS. Tell them I'll be down in a week to test them out w/ the 'Busa.

also IF you could get a HD up to 160 (other than by dropping it out of a C-130), WTF are you gonna do when you approach a gradual bend in the road? I at least hope for the sake of officers lives, that they put dual discs up front. Couldn't they afford to give the officers a good quality bike like a BMW? So much for officer safety.

  3. I'd be willing to bet it's mainly for the "holy shit there's a twin turbo B-King" factor, because there's no advantages, only disadvantages on going twin turbo on that small of a motor. only becomes an advantage in above about 5.0 liters, then you basicly do a twin, to cut the work load into two 2.5 liter motors. makes for less lag time and better boost response. Not to mention the whole dynamics of exhaust pulses hitting the turbine blades and all kinds of other shit that gets pretty complicated.

  4. I FUCKIN HATE tailgaters. I'm seriously considering carrying a few busted up sparkplugs just for that occasion. the last one, some fat bitch on her cellphone would have had a missing side mirror except the woman was on the back and she doesn't know quite how crazy I get yet.

On another note, is it wrong to be depressed for several days that you didn't go after someone and bust their car up?

  5. sweet, those may hit the 4k mile mark on the back of my bike. Probably be my next set, I was looking at the older ones a bit and my friend has a set and loves them, but if they've got a D/C rear, I'll be all over it :D

  6. I've got the Joe Rocket Balistic 7.0 pants and I love them. I went with these because in pretty sure they were the only ones with hip pads. I'd check out Kneedraggers.com and see if they carry them, and if there's any user reviews up for them. Prob be your best bet on finding info on them.

Yeah, I read that too, wasn't that on the .Org? There needs to be a site that reviews gear, or allows users to post ONLY their reviews of gear after going down. I think that'd be very helpful for allot of people looking to buy gear, because lets face it, thats really the only time it counts!
