  1. Yeah, the top is a cover of sorts... Like a golf umbrella like you mentioned. The thing is that when we get really hard rains that are blowing sideways, it travels up the canopy and gets into the vented area. Drips water all over everything... Like our race team haulers on our semis - they don't have a single vent area for this reason as it will cause leaks under heavy rains and that is a no go when it is time to be working on bikes with exposed parts like carbs, intake ports, etc exposed... Know what I mean, Vern?
  2. Not good when the rain comes. Typically, those are for patios and the like. Not open air areas like a paddock. Vents no good...
  3. Other options? Do tell. These camps are awesome. I've never done Rich Oliver's mystery school and would also like to try Collin Edwards new school, but i think they all are very similar in cost...
  4. I race in contacts. I would NEVER suggest wearing glasses in a helmet if you can avoid it. Especially sunglasses. I have seen guys crash and get prats (arms/triggers) in their eyes. Nothing severe, but could easily have been. What I have found is that I will keep the chin vent closed most the time. That helps. However, because we cannot stop and do the drops (We used to ride 1.5 hr stints in endurance), I have had only one occasion where I lost one - popped out. That REALLY sucks. But, today's contacts are pretty good and as long as you make sure they are full of as much moisture as you can give them before you head out, you should be fine.
  5. I was going to come down with the Husaberg and ride with you guys, but just couldn't get the schedule to work out. I'm going to take the wheels and use them on this 350. I think it will make for a better tard...
  6. Dude, you don't even know. I show up with the cleanest bike, best gear and the trickest parts. I then proceed to race in the C Class and order a few shit burgers off the $.99 Value Menu and crash test everything. I suck.
  7. I understand. Your comments made sense as you mentioned affordability concerning you only. The other guys were commenting like they didn't see the value. Typical if looking at it solely on a price perspective...
  8. Thanks, man. We are going to do some trick bits on it for the Indy Show and then it gets some ice loving', I hope... Otherwise, we HAVE to plan some more tarded days at CRP and maybe visit the Cincy guys and give them a "What fir"...
  9. Honestly, the track they use isn't very well suited for the bike to really dig in while the car is there in front of it. I would have liked to see the bike run a separate run and then the car. Looked like the bike was held up a few times (As well as the bike held the car up at times). I also would like to see them run at a legit track vs. a less than a mile course...
  10. Dude, does anyone know when and even "if" they are bringing threes back to the States? This is a newer episode and I wish they were coming here. Any info?
  11. How about Monday? I may need to be at the stupid IMS show... You can leak some pics if you want. They'd be good teasers until I get them mounted. Dude, I can't wait. How'd the Zook stuff turn out?
  12. The net results go well beyond the value of $500. Look at it this way - a track day is $200 on average. This is a school that will not only translate what is learned to overall riding ability, but will have you in more control of your bike than ever before. Well worth the money. And, shit loads of fun. When I say you will be worn out, think "Can't move my arms and legs" and you'l be close to that feeling...
  13. PS, how is that pastic coming along anyways? I am SOOOOOO stoked to see the RC8 stuff.
  14. No matter which way ou slice it, I ain't near as good as the bike and will simply have to settle with "That guy looks bad ass" while on the bike. I am in process to grab some ice tires to join fellow buddies on a certain lake. Probably use this vs the Berg on the lake, ya think? DEFINATELY will be slapping the tard wheels on it though!
  15. BOOM! Yup, that just happened... Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  16. As seen here... http://www.ezupdirect.com/ezup-instant-shelters/pyr2plus.php
  17. Nick, go to Dick's or order online. EZ-Up brand is what you want. Most sturdy and best quality outside an arm and a leg type ones that are above that. For what you'll be doing, EZ-Up is the cheapest bet.
  18. From what Flounder has told me, you better get an extra job! Everyone is a good rider. Some are just better. I think the quiet ones like yourself are the ones to concern one's self over...
  19. Nice. Jealousy is such a funny thing. There's no list, but if you think this is a majority of track day or racer types, you aren't paying too close of attention... Now, if you feel I am wrong in saying that, it's all good. But, you'd be fibbin' to yourself...
  20. You are one of the few that have done some track days. You're on the overall list as well. I'll make a note about jrmiii.
  21. There are VERY few track driven guys on here. There are a LOT of wannabe types and certainly a pile of street know it alls. But, there are some really into it drag guys and honestly, Ninja Nick or Born Sinner would be who I would talk to about anything straight line. Oh, and road race guys drag race, too. We gotta get into turn one first ya know...
  22. My bad. Sounds like another Harris type guy. You guys have fun with this one!
