BG will have similar technical turns to learn from. I'll tow ya around there... As for Mid-Ohio... I might be back as a customer late this year, but for sure in 2010 to ride with fellow OR riders... I towed a few instructors around a few times. I was trying to show them what to show the customers. It's unique, but when you do it, it makes sense. Ask Paskey on here and maybe some of our staff guys. I don't show everyone the whole deal as it is tough to pick up and learn. But, if you want to drop your times, these two spots are what you need to do right and do it to the point it is second nature...

Yup, the carousel is a tough one to hit right. I try and help a lot of riders go through there, but it is a faith deal. I tell them I actually drag my knee through the grass there right before turn in and they cannot believe me. I then tell them watch Hacking go through there from this year's TV coverage and they can clearly see what I mean. It's a tough turn series and the keyhole is the same. The vids posted in the other thread show what I mean. Nate and C7 are doing great jobs, but can drop their times a good bit if they work on these areas... The videos can be great tools to learn from... I'd get a camera and it can be helpful to show where you should be vs, where you are...

Jess, you looked nice and smooth out there. You definitely look like you can ride your 600 fine. The racers they had as staff weren't what I'd call accomplished. Short notice folks? Sure. That Pett guy was talking like he was the next Robert Jensen... Anyways, for any staff to say your bike was too big or that you need to work out hasn't met someone like Mellisa Paris (Hayes' wife - who was faster than any of those guys...) or even one of the owners of STT - Bonnie. The idea is that you need to help those who have what they have. Teach them the principles and basics and work from there. Chipping at them and knocking them down is simply an ideal that doesn't work. It also shows they lack skills needed to be good coaches. I think we do a good job with that and I am sure there were those on Mid-Oh's staff that were doing a great job, too. But this example is what I was seeing in a few of these guys as they talked. They didn't know me from Adam and it was kind of funny to hear their thoughts and tell me how to ride the track... I think the one guy had been there only once, but had a bunch of answers! I will say a few staff guys were good and even a few guys used to work with us. I was REALLY glad to see a lot of you wearing STT tees. That was cool. It meant a lot to me. It was also good to see a few guys that are regular customers come up and say "hey" and talk. Nobody pressed me into what happened and just hung out. I was there to help anyone that needed it, but with conditions, it wasn't going to be a factor. I wish Mid-Ohio the best of luck. I do also hope to see a lot of you at Grattan, Gingerman, BlueGrass, and other venues yet to be announced for 2010. We're going into 2010 with a strong program and changing a few things to better service you guys as customers. I think you will be happy and hopefully, we will retain you all as customers. Cheers.

Nobody won. I applaud Zorro for waiting it out. I think he will progress in his riding ability due to the conditions. Flounder in his defense wasn't willing to play on the sketchy surface. I saw after it had dried and such within that last hour and honestly, you all were really just riding around. Not able to set times typical of a regular day. Wasn't a fair playing ground as when they both were out, it was shit. A good number of guys packed up and went home. Flounder isn't a pussy for doing so and Zorro can't say he beat him due to it wasn't head to head. So, until next time... Although, I do think Zorro gets to make a tee shirt since Aaron had one made... Vagina comments are welcome as jabbing remarks and friendly competition, but I just want to say that yesterday wasn't a good day to measure anything...

oh, I've been on a 600 a good number of times round that there track.
-
I am. That's why it probably sucks that you youngins can't pass an old guy, huh? :D
-
It's really only an issue with Mid-Ohio. You can run really well at about any other track in the country w/o issue... Mid-Ohio will laugh at you straight in the face if you asked about a rain policy...
-
You guys are gonna have fun in the rain! GOOOOOOOOD Luck!! Seriously, be really careful guys and gals. The track is bad in the wet. It really is and I feel that if I was riding as a customer (MAY do this in September), I would stay in my trailer until it dried out...

Nah, age old battle. Both groups are good. Both have some really loyal followers. I just want to make sure people here know what to expect.
-
Oh, and like I said, if you are advanced with STT, you have to start in I group and get graded. There's a good number of advanced riders in STT that would EASILY be A group with NESBA. But, their rules and their game so... Just wanted to give a heads up to STT riders as they are prominent on this site.
-
how is what I said inaccurate? You are saying that you will evaluate the riders and if they meet your criteria, they can move up. But, licensed racers (some can't even get under :20 at Putnam) can start in advanced. Where am I wrong here?
-
-
So, is NESBA a site sponsor now? All you guys who do advanced with STT will have to be evaluated and approved to ride advanced...
-
I'd like to know who these guys with "extensive racing experience" are. If it is who I think it is, he's really experienced at talking a good game and sawing off customers. Will be interesting to see who shows. I hope they make your day good up there. They k ow they need to win you over due to the fact they are essentially wanting to keep STT customers coming back. I hope they do it right.

SOLD!!! Lock 'er up.

Two events in October. 99.9% certain. Be there or be gay.

Monte is too nice a guy and a smart business man to let it out of the bag. Just let it be and understand that STT is no longer doing Mid-Ohio events. Reasons may never come out, but I can tell you, Monte doesn't do lame PR stuff...

Guys, gals, kids, etc... The rumors are going to run rampant. Cannot control any of that. As for price and those who thought it was STT that set the prices? Not the case. I will stand up and defend ill facts towards STT. That's not a truth at all. Your feelings towards STT should be based on how the days were ran, how they were structured and how the staff worked with the riders. Mid-Ohio can make it look and sound like an STT event, but you all know how we did things and how our staff was. All i can say is that we are still running strong at Grattan, Gingerman and soon to be BG. Come out and play with us and enjoy what you have come to expect from a track day company. Come out and enjoy STT!! Have fun at Mid-Ohio this weekend and as I stated in the other three or four threads - ANYONE needs help or wants some tips/advice, ask away. Cheers and be safe and above all, have fun!

Whoa... This got out quick. I'd be interested in who talked with Nate or Nick because I am a little bummed that the people I talked to would tell everyone else. Issue is that yes, STT is no longer running events for Mid-Ohio. We don't have the bandwidth here to discuss why, but the relationship is no longer as it was. Trust me when i say that STT will be fine and we will be SUPER ready for BG to come around. The October event is 99.9% sure and with a track as such what will be BG close to you all, it's going to be great. STT staff will not be running nor helping at Mid-Ohio. Trust me, if it was my fault, I wouldn't still be on with STT. But, you can blame me if it helps! I just hope those of you that were at any of the events I ran this year had a great time. I really wish we were able to say goodbyes the proper way, but I suspect that a lot of you may be at BG even this year and we can say "later" then. If ANY of you need help at Mid-Ohio for going faster there or figuring it out, call me, PM me, email, etc. I want to help and i want you all to succeed up there. I know a few things that can help you all in getting quicker and even though i am not the fastest guy there, I think i know enough tricks and secrets to help. Otherwise, my last trip at Mid-O will probably be the RGCC or whatever the AMA Pro Am event is called in September. Come on up and say "hey" if you come to watch. Here's to a lot of you I have met up at Mid-Ohio. It's always great to put a name to a face and I am sorry to some that I never had a lot of time for (running an event takes a lot of time on my part) and hopefully, I didn't make you feel unwelcome. Have fun Saturday and be careful. I wish you all well and look forward to seeing a lot of you at BG and Grattan this year!
-
STT will not have staff running any more events at Mid-Ohio. All requests and questions pertaining to the remaining Mid-Ohio event dates need to be addressed to Mid-Ohio directly. I can say that there is too much to share and even a Cliff Notes version takes up too much space and time. In the end, I will miss Mid-Ohio as I have met a lot pf you there, but I look forward to Blue Grass and having a GREAT time in the dirty south!! If ANY of you need help and want some pointers, notes, etc., by all means shoot me a PM or email. I am always available. Hopefully, every event you have attended up to this point at Mid-Ohio has been ran well and met with your expectations. All I know is that STT is going to keep rocking and we are SUPER DUPER excited about BG. Sorry I will not be there Saturday. If just to see Flounder vs. Zorro...

They say sold out, but guys have been calling and getting in. You need to call via the Mid-Ohio site... It's gonna be packed and you guys are going to be stacked tight. Have fun. How many chances to pass you do I get?
-
Anyone? I'll do $150 rock bottom or it goes on Ebay as Jail Broken and will pull much more...

Rusty- Understand there is always two sides to every story. I found out that jbot was allowed to pick his bike up and ride it in at Grattan after a crash. He had no idea it was on the checkered flag lap and that's why they let him go. TRUST me, he got an ear full and was genuinely sorry for what he did. I thought he also came to you and apologized, did he not? A lot of people make mistakes. This was a really dangerous one that could have ended badly, but didn't. So, let's learn from it and move on. Jbot learned a hard lesson that day and I am pretty sure it won't happen ever again...

Here's a couple of pics: Back shows the apple has a few blems due to the case itself. Usually, these are scratched to hell and back... Front powered up. Obviously, my apps and stuff will be deleted...
