  1. Ok, I just talked to Monte and Bonnie... The timeline sounds something like this, Vera and please correct me if wrong. Sounds like you called the phone number given that goes to STT's "call center" that is there to answer questions and update people that do not visit the website. They told you that the event was still scheduled as planned. They also suggested to check out the website for detailed info as it is the place to get a LOT of questions answered about track days, STT, track events, etc... From what I understand, you then persisted to get a personal number for Monte or Bonnie. Even though the call center employees are NOT supposed to give out personal info, they felt you were upset enough to supply you with Bonnie's phone number. You then talked to Bonnie and at some point called the call center people "stupid". Now, listen Vera... You and I have had some good conversations about stuff on LR and hate to go against you on this, but calling people stupid is not very classy and not a good idea. Especially to one of the owners... I also understand you have a hotel that is an issue as you are traveling (along with hundreds of others) and wanted answers. You stated that you didn't want to go on to STT's site for info. Yet, you are here making some harsh statements. I understand your worry about the date and whether you are needing to travel so far for a track day. This deal with BG is literally day to day. Monte will have an update shortly. He doesn't want to run the event if it isn't safe. He doesn't want to run the event if it isn't to a level expected by STT and doing track events. At this stage, one more day can make a big difference and he wants to make sure he gets detailed info before calling it quits. WERA cancelled due to travel issues by the teams. It was a National event. Had it been a Regional, it would still be on the schedule most likely. They just wanted to give teams a 1 month heads up to change flights and get things sorted... It's typical for National events... My suggestion is this. Email or call and ask for a refund. You can cancel a hotel within 6pm of arrival day. You can cancel that w/o any worry. I just feel that you are going to go in very negative and upset and the experience will not be a fair judgement of STT overall. Take the credit and ride later or ride with one of the many other orgs out there. I like STT. I am not paid a dollar for anything I do for them. I could go to NESBA, Pro-Motion, etc. I chose STT because I like the way they do things. I think Monte is one of the best guys I have met in this industry and I consider him a friend after only two years of knowing him. He and Bonnie are some of the nicest people you will meet. However, they are some of the most savvy business people I have met and understand a lot more than they make out to. They are good peeps in my book and that list is very short...
  2. What phone number are you using? There are people on here that have even emailed Ron and got responses to things such as photos at an event. I cannot imagine that someone's refusing to call you back...
  3. Ok, first of all, I spoke with Monte yesterday. As he sat there, he believes it is a go. Now, understand that he is not at BG, he is not the owner of BG and he relies on these guys to fulfill their commitments. Meaning, he has spoken with Brad and has stated that the end of May HAS TO HAPPEN. STT is not holding your money. They have cancelled two events so far and have refunded EVERY SINGLE person their money. They took all of that with a 2% and more hit as the CC companies will charge him at minimum 2% for that money. Also, he is to call and talk to Brad today and get a heads up. Have you checked out STT's site? There are plenty of threads where STT has reported what is going on and have cancelled with more than enough time ahead of time. Again, this is a BG issue more than anything and honestly, STT can only go by what BG tells them. Who is Luis anyways? How does he know if it is safe enough? They are doing tire walls as we speak and the plan is to have the top layers on by the first event. Technically speaking, we can run on the base layer... Drains will be open and allow the sitting water to receded, etc. If you go onto STT's site, you will see Monte's personal email. There is also a phone number and as of yet, not one person has had issue with getting info from someone at STT... I will say it is tiring to hear all the jibber jabber on what is going on down there. So many rumors, so many ill educated people shimming in, etc. It's is getting to the point I wish they would close the gates and not open them until complete... As of right now, it is still a go. That's over a week away. We will know tonight from what I know and i will report. But again, to sound as if STT is at fault is not fair. CALL or EMAIL Monte direct. Hell, I haven't even got a PM from anyone asking and that's an avenue as I am in contact with Monte almost daily. There are plenty of ways to find out info. STT is a top notch organization and very few people ever complain. They have one of the highest return rates in the biz and the responses about customer service has always been good. I will find out what I can...
  4. You should be able to get them from a Kaw dealer... My suggestion is to call Spiegler in Dayton and get a set made for your bike. They have a ton of color options and you can even get whatever color banjos and heads you want... Their site is www.spieglerusa.com Ask for Mattias (Ma-tee-us) and tell him Brian Healy sent you. He will do a good job trying to get you set up...
  5. Check out www.sportbiketracktime.com and go to the forums. Down at the bottom there is a WTB section for events. You can post a WTB there. Also check the For Sale Events page and see if anyone is selling. If you have never been to a track, ou dare not sign up for I group. We will notice your speed difference and put you down to Novice. If Novice is sold out, we will sit you out and do something with refund or similar...
  6. It isn't as simple as pulling off the cap and replacing it. I'd suggest one, a YAMAHA Service Manual - not a Cliff Notes version... Second, there are some things you'll need in terms of suspension parts to hold stuff and whatnot. Suggestion is to get it to someone who can do it and do it right...
  7. Well stated. If you are one, looking down to adjust the speed to "double the limit", you are doing it wrong. The only way to get better is to really do track days. Street riding will get you faster on a set number of turns YOU KNOW. However, when you think you are a super fast street guy? Come to the track and you'll see that a BIT of that ability will help you, but it won't make you a super fast track guy. Track days help you understand the bike and what it does vs. just riding faster through a particular turn. Things like body position, looking up road, acceleration, braking, trailing, etc all come into play. Most people that crash in corners - especially the street - usually get in too hot and cannot make adjustments to compensate and get out safe. They will tuck the front from braking and trailing too much or roll off the throttle and load the front and crash. Typically, you never see a rider that crashed coming out under acceleration. It's usually entrance or mid corner that causes issues. There will be a lot of people telling you "how to". Just come to a track day and let us help you. Trust me when I say it will make you a MUCH better street rider...
  8. This is closest to what we typically do. We use MMs vs. Inches... Also, try and find a hard point on the frame's subframe or similar to measure to vs. the bodywork. Bodywork - especially track plastic - can move and change the measurement. For the front, a zip tye works great to measure with. OTT is a better choice for an example. Not sure what the whole L2, L3 thing is as lifting the bike with rider on board is a pretty sketchy proposition... We use three people at the track. Rider, holder, and measurement guy. Two guys will be used to lift the bike (w/o rider) and get a measurement. Next, rider gets on, holder holds the bike in the upright position and measurement guy, well... Measures! Easy as pie. I think I did a write-up, but will have to look for it...
  9. Ok, here's the reality... We start on track at 5pm. 15 minutes for Intermediate and 15 minutes for Advanced... Then, at 5:30, it's a free for all. Gate will open again at 3pm for non STT staff. Registration is open at 3:15 until 4:15. You show after that? Tough luck... 4:15 - 4:45 is Rider's Meeting. 5pm on track promptly... Intermediate is up first.
  10. Guys. 100% start time on the track is 5pm. It was an error in what Mid-Ohio posted. That's still 3 hours of solid track time for $155 or whatever it costs. That's more than the track time people get on the three group days and trust me, 3 hours solid is going to wear ya out... Gate opens at 3 pm for non STT Staff... Don't try and get by as the gate people know who is staff and who is not. They do not get paid much so, don't bust their asses over something trivial...
  11. I believe this is an error on Mid-Ohio's part. The driving (car) school is prior to us. Plus, you got a response from Patty stating a 4:45 time frame so... I think that shows the error on their part. A few things that are for sure: 1) No parking on hot pit. The cars are down there until close to the time we start. You are welcome to go down only after they are finished which is after Rider's Meeting (mandatory) and 15 minutes before green track. If you want to wait until that time, cool. The car guys have the track and I am not going to allow anyone other than staff down there... Most staff will be in garages or in the designated area we typically go. 2) No entry early due to the cars and their school. Too many people walking around and it has disrupted their scheduled times before. The car guys are really cool people and we need to show respect. Being allowed in 2 hours prior to the event is more than enough time for riders to get ready and get everything in order. If you need more than 2 hours, you need to be working on that stuff before you come to the track.
  12. Guys, you will be pitting at the normal area of the paddock. If you do not rent a garage (Only $50 for as many bikes as you feel comfortable with), you will need a generator. The track is not going to allow anyone other than staff in until 3pm. So, DO NOT SHOW UP AT EARLY TIMES EXPECTING TO GET IN. Event starts at 5pm on track. That's more than enough time to get ready. Tech/Registration will be from 3:15 to 4:15. Rider's meeting from 4:15 to 4:45. On track at 5pm. Every 30 minutes will be checker flagged and will start again immediately following as a reminder to get water and check gas...
  13. Not sure where you are looking, but about EVERY dealer I have been into has left over 08 ZX6Rs... I'd check with Clinton County, Honda East, Middletown, Andrews, and J&J for the "best deals". Honda East is probably going to be the cheapest, but remember, they are Toledo and the drive cuts into the savings...
  14. He wants the jacket - not the suit like you got. Nobody is going to get one cheaper than $550 from a shop. Trust me...
  15. Hey man, Jerry should be around, I suspect. Not sure what hours he works...

  16. Go in to Roush, ask for Jerry and tell him I sent you. Tell him to give you the buddy deal and see what he can do for you on price. He and I are good friends and it may help getting a decent deal. He's good people.
  17. If she backs out, Kyle is next in line. Sorry... BUT, if they both back out, you'd be next.
  18. No they do not. And, if they did, they would be excluded from the sale... The MAP policy prevents sales like this on that particular brand... You can get SHIFT at ALL Seasons in Wooster, though... You are close to there, right?
  19. Guys... These are all BRAND NEW AND NEVER WORN. All have the bags, the warranty cards, Ducati cards and boxes...
  20. Nochknstrps has called the two frames listed sold... So, have Monster Dog and Valve left. Buy both and get them for $150. Single is $80 each... All OBO, of course...
  21. Cool beans. What day is good? I am looking at being there on either Wednesday or Friday...
  22. I actually wanted to try a short course electric car this time around... The SC10 and Traxxas Slash are top contenders in that product mix... Of course, I am always looking for used stuff as I like playing around with these things. Had a Traxxas TMaxx and miss it. Tough to find them used and not beat to shit and back...
  23. Saturday and Sunday Special - $150!! After Sunday, back to $160 and will be on Ebay...
  24. Which one and what are the details?
