I think you mean 17,600 - not 17K. IF it is 17K - STAY AWAY!!! If 17,600, it doesn't seem to be a bad deal. It looks rather clean and even though the D&D pipe is a pile of shit, you can get exhausts pretty cheap for those. I'd offer him $3k cash and see what he says. That's pretty fair, though...

Nice try - Flounder can attest - I'll ride someone else's bike!!! I'll even make it fair and run a stock 600. Wait, I did... (I was riding Monte's ZX636 the day he was at Mid-O) -

Undertail will shed 2 seconds off your lap time and prevent Chris from being able to draft you as easily... -
Pops... Need your addy to send a letter if still needed. Heard from the big man at Pony that you all took a different route and I cannot tell you enough at how good of an idea that was. Anyways, was in, dropped off the letter, but it was still there Tuesday so, I need to get it to you directly.

Ahh, wussy... Be different. Set the fashion bar higher than it is. Matching colors is so lame... Easily paintable and for the price, it wouldn't be too bad... I'll cut ya a deal - PM me. -

I told the guy my PayPal addy and there isn't anything on there. I'll give him the day to drop the money. If by day's end he hasn't, consider them yours... -

For $20, you can paint 'em with Poly based paint and be done with it, yo!!! I think they are spoken for, anyways.... -

Wait... scratch the sliders... I think the 00-03 stuff would work, but you'd eliminate the "no cut" bracket... Not sure - I can check to see. As long as the bolt is long enough, it should work. -

Call Jerry at Cleveland/Akron Honda and tell him I sent you. They carry more shit IN STOCK for Ducatis than anyone in the Eastern US outside a shop or two in NY... They've had a Magnesium WSBK spec swingarm in stock for a 916 before... They carry everything. He'll hook you up if he knows you're racing or doing track days... Again, he is Jerry and is the Parts Manager. Great guy...440-735-2000 -

There's a set of black frame sliders up there...$20 I also have a tank bra for a Busa - Second Look in Black and Silver. States for an 02, but sure it works for other years. New in the package - $25.... I also have one shown for an 05 Busa in Black and Grey from Full Throttle Designs - $25... There's some love, no? -
Just worry about frame sliders. Sure, replacing bar ends with the same material as your frame sliders isn't a bad idea, but why? unless for track use. The OEM bar ends are fine for street. They will protect and do a good job "assisting" in a low side... As far as the swing arm spools - DON'T DO IT. They are too big and typically get caught and snap off the mount where the bolt threads in to. You then need to weld the mount back to the swing arm or you have to buy a swing arm stand that is universal fit and not designed for buttons... Plus, they are stupid big and look terrible. LSL stuff is rounded. They assist in a typical lowside and will not bend the bolts. Typically... Monte at STT has a set that goes against this as they dug into the hard earth once the bike left the track surface... Frame sliders are a needed evil. In a crash, they usually bend the bolt which is fine as opposed to breaking the bolt, but they sometimes will pull the threads and cause damage to the threaded hole on the frame. It's a catch 22 of sorts. Frame slider - possibly Heli-coil the frame. No frame sliders, case cover, fairing, etc., etc., etc. needing replaced. However, I have seen MANY times where we had a low side and the frame slider catches the curbing and literally caused more damage than if they weren't on there... For every "It saved my bike" reply, I can add "They actually made it worse", but we run them because more often than not, they help... Just don't think it is a cure all...

Uh... The GSXR goes more than a "few tenths faster" than 150mph... Plus, it is how fast and easily it gets there. Suspension is better, delivery is better, brakes are better - everything is better and FASTER...

Yeah, I am the guy right above the bottom right guy in green. Black hat, black glasses and black jacket. I saw you based on your directions, too. Guy's a dingleberry for knocking you. I'd fist him in the neck the next time you all meet...

Where was that pic posted? I was worrying about the damn oil leak I had on Monday. Small and stupid deal that I fixed, but every session, I was worrying about the leak. Monday sucked.
-
Yeah, that was a guy named Paul. He thinks he's a LOT faster than he really is. He acts like he's top shelf AMA material. Never seen him beat the likes of Jensen, etc... Ask Drew about Paul... He was there simply to race around and ignore the rules staff members need to follow. He was as useful as a tit on a bull. I would have hooked up with ya Monday, but I was chasing an oil leak and was in teh Noivce group, anyways...

As far as the "right bike" thread here... Buy a lighter weight bike with lower hp. All these guys who say you'll be bored with a smaller bike and to get a 600 are most likely not even able nor capable of riding their 600s well. Sure, at the light in town, on the corner at Rally's, pimping in front of their college dorm... They'll look like they know what they are doing. Get them on the street or track and when they ride, you can tell who knows their bike and who doesn't. Most don't... These guys with liter bikes that went to a 1000 a year or less after they started riding are even more funny. Buy an SV650 as a first bike. Nimble, light, great for track days (Where you'll learn more about riding than any trip to the Gap), and an all around great street bike. Wanna have fun on a bike that will kick teh shit out of most guys on their sportbikes? Buy a KTM Duke or similar. Hell, even the new up coming Yamaha 250 Supermoto. Sure, your buddies will crush you in a straight line on the freeway, but who cares? If that's all they ride, that's pretty boring anyways. If you go anywhere in town or on some curves, you'll be king dick and they'll be left scratching their heads... Don't buy a current crop 600 as a first bike. Sure, there are smart guys out there that are scared of their bikes and respect them, but they are few and far between... Buy something that makes more sense. Older 600s are fine - CBR F3s, FZR600s, even F4is and the like. Now, all the guys saying their fast enough, good enough, and capable enough on their liter bikes and 600s will chime in. They're the ones to worry about.

Hmmmm.... Had you listened to me when I told you a soft tire wasn't a good idea... You know how to gain a few seconds a lap? Talk to those who have experience... Crazy idea, I know... You could always keep asking away at GDC and find stupid and untested answers from dousche bags that seemingly know it all or, you could ask real guys who have been around long enough that may not have the right answer, but can help you along with ideas that will resolve the issue faster... Just an idea...

Nothing I know of, but you COULD take a stock peg, cut it short and drill a hole in the end. Next, take a peg piece from either the stock unit or similar and run a bolt through it and attach it to the shorter shaft piece. It would look fine and outside the nut on the inner side, not really noticeable...b

$8k for all of it. Again, tranny is brand new and even have a set of new shifter forks for "just in case"... I am looking at an 07 750 and need cash or I have to wait until Spring... The spares alone would cost you damn near $2k. That's $6k for a fresh SS spec 750 that can draft a 1000 and not drop too much distance and can handle more like a 600... Well, the acceleration out of a corner needs a gentle touch...

What's so hot about a chick that can ride fast in a straight line? My mom can floor the gas pedal in her car at the first glimpse of a green light. She's not hot. Chicks that can turn a bike like on a road course are hot. R6 chic, that one girl on the SV and the other on the silver R6 are hot. No offense to their boyfriends, obviously...
-
For a boxer, that's really pretty good. If you expect it to be more 1098ish, you are looking at a bike that isn't expected to be in the same class. More of an FX type bike...

Here's a pic when they first thought BMW was headed to MotoGP.... http://www.k12rs.com/BMW_MotoGPl.jpg Obviously, they will abandon the boxer style as they will have to in order to be competitive... Here's a more up to date one though they still relate them to MotoGP even though they announced they will compete in 2009. I got the years mixed up with KTM as they have stated they will compete by 2010... http://www.mvagusta.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3638
