Dude, I would so love to have some excess cash right now. One of the favorites I have wanted to find for car racing... DAMNIT!!!
-
Uh, it is a longer than stock system. I was wondering if it rode closely to the bottom of the bag. Thus creating some heat issues possibly. I wanted to see the gap between the bags and canister. And, he probably got a bit more midrange with the longer can and mid pipe. Hob - Have you done a Rexxer map to your Multi?
-
The advantage comes when racing it. Otherwise, you have to use something like a Bazzaz unit that isn't good TC for example. When they come stock with the product, it allows the race teams to use them the way intended. It will happen sooner rather than later as it is something the general public believes in whether needed or not. ABS is on it which is a sign they are following the needs of the buyer. They will go fly by wire soon...
-
Good to see they made some changes. I wonder why they won't do the Fly-by-wire dealio, but only getting an additional 3hp, they are obviously trying to build dependability within the motor vs gaining extra power. They look to have not really changed, but lightened for less inertia. I think the upgrades with the injectors and the updated gearbox with smaller engine changes are a sign they want to make it stay together longer as the older models were in dire need of dependability in race conditions. The BIG deal is in the chassis in my mind. The trail and rake numbers are really good and aggressive which should make the bike handle great. The weight is good also. The HP is lower than I would have expected with low torque, but that's a triple which is closer to an inline. I think they've done the right things. Let's see how they stack up when the season starts. I think they have a great package. I think next year might get even more interesting!

Raced with contacts and glasses. Glasses suck. I have raced with contacts for almost 20 years and no issues. I have had a little drying out from airflow, but today's helmets have the over the nose plastic piece that seems to keep the air flow away from my eyes. Now, I have had one instance where I had a contact get folded when I blinked. During a practice session... That sucked pretty bad. Blinked and used my finger on the straight (Road Atlanta) to get it to pop out and finished the session... The feeling was like an ice pick digging around in my eye. Fun stuff. But, hasn't happened since.

Looks really good. How does it work with the side bags?

Trying to figure out what size one-piece suit to buy....
Moto-Brian replied to Casper's topic in Track is Crack
Ben, buy a two piece with a 360 degree zipper. Just as good. Yes, while it is entirely possible to burst a seam at the zipper, if this would happen in a quality two piece, you will have several other issues that will be of more concern. My opinion unless racing or aggressive track days, go with a two piece. More flexibility and options. Plus, they fit better in terms of when walking around. In other words, a little more relaxed fit overall. You get a sportbike? -
You can buy a frame and engine, etc. But, the cost is WAY more than taking a stocker and transforming it to a racebike. Plus, taking these down like this allows for the teams and racers to see one, how it is assembled to understand things and two, allows them to fix any items that need attention while at race pace. Lube in critical areas like swingarm bolts, steering heads, etc., etc... Plus, allows you to run a race harness or take the stock harness down to race trim which can save up to 2lbs. Basically, for the right money, you can buy anything brand new. But, the su of the parts will exceed the price of one assembled... Question to Nate or whomever this is - what exactly are the differences between the previous generation 675 and the new 2013 675 in terms of the motor?
-
This squid bullshit is stupid. The real reason for the higher rates is due to the fact that there are more GSXRs on the road than CBRs. Simple as that. Squid factor? Again, more riders on one model and brand and you are going to have a higher % of assholes riding them thus, more exposure. Trust me when I say I have seen plenty of asshat squids on numerous other brands. And as for all the squids only riding GSXRs, I plastered enough racers with my GSXRs to let everyone know that squids can be fast also... Point is there are squids on everything. Even scooters.

A good suit take two people to get it off... Someone grabs the cuff and pulls while you draw back. You roll out and do the same with the other arm... -

AStar is a good suit to try on and base your fitment on as many of the companies are running similar size runs. What is your budget and what is it going to be used for? I am hooked up with a company that does custom fit and for the money, will fit you exactly. No way you're going to fit into a 44/54, man. I am 6'1" and 195lbs and I run a 44/54. You're probably a 46/56 or 48/58. Getting stuck is a good thing. They should be tough to take off. That means they fit snug where they should. They need to be tight. I'd say the 46/56, but not sure... -
Mary- I will give you $375 for the wheel and you sell the tire for $75-$100 if new. That would be essentially $50 off your advertised price. i just need the wheel and would need to paint it for my use. So, I am willing to hold off until I really need a spare set of wheels, but am willing to pay $375 for the wheel only. You can get $500 easily on Ebay, but will have to ship, etc. I can pick up or PayPal and have you leave it at Northern Ohio Ducati Triumph and I get later. Whatever would work...

That was first qualifying and he had a nasty highside with about 15 minutes to go and was dizzy. They thought better to abandon the session... Obviously with SJC's post, you can see what he accomplished.

DISH is channel 392. With some, they claim they have that channel, but not the US version. They don't have to upgrade. I don't know as we pay for the extra package as we are into the sports stuff here at home so, it is like a bonus for me!

Trying hard to organize some things as we speak. It's tough as the budget from Ducati isn't capable of handling it as it would have to be something we'd do all over the country. The KTM deal was easy due to the warehouse in Amherst. Ducati is out in CA and logistically speaking, if they would consider this idea, it would be near northern CA before OH... But, working on some ideas and things. Stay tuned! (NO PROMISES)

Why does it have to be SNELL? There are a ton of BSI ECE rated euro lids that trump SNELL lids. Just something to keep in mind as if for racing, the ECE BSI will meet requirements and are accepted by about every org I know...

RS-1 is bad ass and fits amazingly well. So well, Bell changed the shell and interior design on the Star for 2013 and incorporates the fit and feel of the RS-1. I got two new ones a comin!!

If that's the target lap time difference, WSBK should be ditched because the WSSK machines are only 2 seconds a lap slower than WSBK machines...
-
Using the last test as an example and understanding the surface has changed and variables will exist, Checa's time would have had him 6th on the grid of the MotoGP time sheet... CRTs are needing to be killed off...

Oh, and annoyance isn't leg on fire... Annoyance is the clip-on position of a sportbike that puts a ton of weight on your wrist. Annoyance is the way your foot rests on the upturn mid pipe on a bike. Annoyance may be had, but what is the overall feelings towards the bike. The example of the guy going across country is a great example. He loves the 1199... Even with annoyances...

So, everyone can use an R6? GSXR1000? ZX10R? RSV4? Wealthy? $18k vs $14k for a japanese cookie cutter bike? How about $11k for a 600? Not sure wealthy guys are the target. Unfortunately, they are part of sales and just like many expensive bikes out there, you will have a cult of people that really have no business riding them. But, I see a bunch of 848s and 1098/1198s at the track. Not everyone being wealthy that have them. I'm not wealthy as compared to a lot of guys out there and I have one. Guess I am wealthy now. COOL!! As for features, understand that we as a society are the driving force for these features. Mommy can't drive without ABS in her base model minivan. Daddy can't drive his bulky 4x4 truck without traction control. Sport touring guys scream for ABS and traction control. Here's a tidbit. Of the units I have had dealers have issues with selling, 2/3 of that inventory are non ABS units. only a 1/3 are ABS units. TC, ABS, different modes for riding/racing, electronic suspension, active suspension, etc. It isn't just the "wealthy man's" bike. The Ninja 300 has ABS... The difference lies in the unit and how it works. Just having ABS is cool, but the Ducati ABS and TC is vastly different as well as the brain and things like the fly by wire system and related. Society drives what goes on a bike. WSBK is a trickle down - not a reason to build a bike. Do bikes get developed to adhere to rules? Sure! Been that way for decades, bro. Wheelie control on an R1? Really? Don't be so easily persuaded by the internet and try stuff for yourself. The world is going to pass you by, man. We aren't riding carbed bikes with 16" front wheels and inboard braking systems. Things change and if you really look, it's not just the wealthy guy bikes...
-
Have you ridden one yet or following what everyone says on the internet? Yes, it gets hot, but so does about every sportbike I've ridden in an urban setting... We are addressing the complaints and have come up with some updated heat shields that should calm the masses, but at the end of the day, it is usually the guys that are riding in urban situations that complain the most. Guys that ride and use the bike in more ideal environments haven't had such crazy levels of issues... Again, not saying you are wrong, but asking where you rode one to come to the conclusion...
-
I know! The Panigale is going to fail and I can't believe Ducati would even try the design. It's too hot and it handles like shit. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I'll be riding an ill handing pile of shit this season also!! I also heard the same piece of shit model did rather well at the CCS opener in Homestead... I think 5th amongst some super strong competitors. Neyra said it was pretty damn fast.

It's like the seven degrees of Kevin Bacon. Except when we are talking the guys to avoid at the track, it is the seven degrees of Keith Stone, I mean Craig. FUCK NO!!! Craig is great peeps. It was another org we all know. but, there was some of that this year at the Mid-O school. Just a couple of guys as most are top notch and solid.
-
Nah, not at Mid-O... You're all good!!
