Hob's pics are badass. I really think there are a couple in there that are the essence of the Multi and what it is all about. One of the coolest bikes I have seen or ridden. -

Free tickets to the IMS show in Cleveland. 2 sets...

I am going to run this through end of day today as I leave for Cleveland tomorrow morning. Let's keep it coming, folks!!! -
OK, thanks to Ducati USA, I have two pairs of tickets available for the IMS show in Cleveland. Two tickets for one day each. You can be two people for one day or one person for two days... They are single day passes... I asked Ben about doing this and I am not going to do something that comes across as advertising, but all I ask is the following: Ticket set #1: If you are in the market for a new Ducati within say, 6-8 months, you be the first to PM me and I will get you the tickets. From there, I assist you in your search if I can, but really, this is to see the new Ducatis in person. Ticket set #2: You are a Ducati owner. Post pics of you on your bike, just a shot of the bike or even some artistic view of your bike. I was having issue getting on to the site so, I cannot see it on my cell phone right now and only my home computer. So, post pictures here and in the next two days, I will figure out who gets them. If I do not get anyone interested in a Ducati within the 6-8 month window, I will decide in some other manner to get the tickets out. Maybe just the top two picture themes posted... Show me those Ducatis or your own personal shot of even a Ducati in action. MotoGP, pits, events, etc.

Moto-Brian replied to Moto-Brian's topic in Track is Crack
In reality, they will net about 7 plus lbs as Nate mentioned. The rear axle nuts alone are great weight savings. But, the idea in my case is to lose the difference from cast wheels to forged wheels. The rotor and carrier nuts/bolts help. I can say I am not a typical bling guy, but one of my dealers does these and it is really cool. The rotor bolts are STOOOOPID light and are amazing vs the OEM ones. Again, the wheels and rotational mass reduction is what I am after. Yes, not cheap, but worth the money when you break it down vs wheels... I am going to buy a spare set of wheels and can't afford the forged aluminum nor magnesium ones. 7 lbs equals about 1 HP. That's not much, but about 7 lbs off the wheels and areas that are rotational is something that is amazing and easier to feel than all over the bike. I won't have Ti fairing bolts, for example... I will do the carrier nuts, rear caliper bolts, etc. That will be it... Guess I'm an average Joe wasting money... -

So, not much done in terms of the motor as of yet and waiting for a few neato things to finalize like rearsets, etc. Here's some tastey tidbits. Titanium Billet type stuff. Front axle nut: Rotor Bolts: Caliper Bolts. Need to be drilled as of yet: Rear Axle nuts: Getting a quick change rear carrier system for the Duc as well as some odds and ends of Titanium here and there like rear sprocket nuts, etc... -

I KNEW IT!!! I knew he had to be a hypocrite!!! Awesome!!! It never ceases to amaze me when we get into these speeding topics that there are people that come on and act like they are perfect and equally capable as drivers and riders. Usually, those are the ones that have a LOT less ability to do such things and therefore cannot or SHOULD NOT. As for Swing's comments on it being legal to speed to pass, huh??? Tell me that rule because speeding is speeding, my friend. If you go typically under 7-10 mph over the limit, you usually never get pinched. But, if you pass and are exceeding the limit over 10 mph which would be most likely, you will get pinched. Trust me, I know... Before you get rolling on a response, understand I get the idea that you can pass under the 7-10 mph over idea. Yes, you can pass a guy going 53 mph and do it at 55mph or slightly over. You'd take a state to do it and probably never pass because you never get that long a stretch of road flat and visible enough to pull it off... The fact is that with Todd's comments and facts after being around you riding, you are pretty much exempt from comments. Totally what I expected... Totally.

Wait, you don't speed, remember? So, you'd set it at 65 mph and probably have a speedo error of 2-3 mph so, in actuality, going 2-3 mph SLOWER than the rest of the flow. God, I'd love to have you in Chicago traffic or similar. You'd be so wet behind the ears, you'd have to pull over to change your soiled panties...

Hell, I watched a State Trooper sit behind someone and flash his lights (Headlights) and the car just sat there. He got an opening and went around on the right and got around quickly. Saw someone do the same thing and the State Trooper pulled them over as he couldn't get around for quite some time... That was freakin awesome!! But, that just goes to show how stupid people are.

I drive about 40k a year. In multiple states. PA and OH are the worse. OH drivers act entitled to drive out there. They meander along without care and typically, are not paying attention until they spot your grill in their mirror. I don't flash anymore. I flash, I usually get brake checked. Brake checking because they are too freakin stupid to understand it takes maybe 10 seconds to get the hell out of the way and allow me to pass. In PA, they are aggressive. They will be out in the passing lane and you'll come up on them. They don't get over of course, but you try and pass and they speed up. Almost everyone. It's crazy. You can be set at 72 MPH in a 65 zone and come up on them as they are traveling maybe at 67. Not a big difference, right? But then you either need to hit almost triple speeds to pass or sit behind and continue with inconsistency. My issue is this. The left lane is a passing lane. Not a traveling lane. I also don't understand why people get so upset that I am traveling at a higher rate of speed than they are. You get up behind them at a regular distance and they never are aware. So, you get up on the bumper and they still don't. You roll out towards the medium in an effort to show yourself as they are on the phone or half asleep. Nothing. You flash them, the world comes crashing to a halt because they JUST become aware and feel you are being a bully. Brake checking, fingers flippin, screams going on, etc. I'm the asshole because they are not paying attention or not being considerate that they are in a passing lane and not getting over and bottlenecking traffic...

Good place to find used aftermarket shocks for a 919?
Moto-Brian replied to 8Rider6's topic in Daily Ride
Few things here... Going into a corner and the rear bouncing is most likely a soft front and the front is diving too much and causing the rear to get unloaded and THEN you probably have issues with rebound. Therefore, you most likely need to get the front sorted AS WELL as the rear. Here's a thing to consider. Say you do replace the rear shock and get something more capable of being tuned. The front then is a weak link. Too often, I find guys buying a shock and no front work or putting in cartridges in the front and a stock rear. The machine needs balance. You cannot do one without the other. You can fix one end and only suffer at the other. Consider this - buy a good used shock and AT MINIMUM, fix the front with springs and fluid. You really owe it to yourself to have a basic cartridge kit installed. You can get a 25mm Ohlins kit or GP Suspension kit for about $300. Add $100 for springs and get the front dialed. Buy a good used rear or even a CBR1000 shock as mentioned and get it refreshed. You really need to plan on spending about $1k total and you'd get new and updated components. You can buy an older shock like an F3 shock, but realize the nitrogen is most likely needing replaced and coming from a guy who raced the F3s back in the day and had RaceTech revalve and respring the stock shock, they are pretty much shit. You'll be ahead to buy a CBR1000 shock if you can, but you run into two things with the notched pre-load. No fine tuning and typically, the nitro needs recharged. Might as well buy a used Penske, man... -
OK, so the Matte Black Rally is back up for sale with the other one. Buyer fell through. Same price as I haven't even tried selling these anywhere else. PM with questions.

Anyone? I've actually forgotten about this thing...

Correct. Not allowed fuel. It was bone dry.

By all means just ask!

If you are serious, I can hook you up with a dealer that will get you the best deal on any new left overs. Trust me, if they have one, they want to move it due to the new Skyhook stuff coming or just arriving...
