Yeah, that wouldn't be advised in trying to out brake him. He's getting refreshed, but he was an AMA racer back in the day. He's probably one of the most naturally gifted riders I have ever been around. MX, SX, GNCC, road race, etc. Anything two wheels, he rocks.

Looking good. Got a cameo of my buddy passing you on my RC8. Looks like he waited for a pack of riders and you got them all. NICE MOVE!!! I gotta quit letting buddies ride my stuff! Just kidding... Mike hasn't been on a bike for about 2 years and was flying once he sorted out the GP shift pattern.

Checking to see if a bike frame is straight

Bingo. Even if you were running AMA... I don't find many racers using the service to fix frames. They will measure at the start of a season or even after a crash. Nothing to pay $75 to check it out like Isaac mentioned. But, to have it fixed if out of whack? Screw it... You gonna come race with us now? That would be great, man! You really need to try Moto Series as they have a fairly solid LW group and seriously fast riders. They have faster LW guys than WERA does right now... -
Checking to see if a bike frame is straight
Moto-Brian replied to YSR_Racer_99's topic in Track is Crack
Depends on the hit it took. If you can see that the damage was simply slower or didn't hit the front, etc., most guys don't do the black magic frame measuring tricks. Just replace the triples. Most the time, the steering shaft twists and causes a bind. Not a big issue and like SJC had done, Reuben can get that fixed easily. Most the time, you replace all the things that get bent like the clip ons, rearsets, subframes, forks, etc... Really doubtful that the frame got bent in a crash... The necks of these modern bikes are so well supported and braced that if bent, they cannot be brought back. I wouldn't waste the money on a measuring appointment. Like mentioned... What if it does show out of line? Gonna cost almost as much as you can find a frame on Ebay or WERA for... For peace of mind, set it up to be measured and make that part of the deal, but don't expect it to be measured straight and perfect. Most are slightly out of tune anyways... My suggestion? Fuck it, run it. -
No doubt! Guy probably has a cam on his toilet in case someone shits and doesn't flush so he can put the hammer down on em... I'm not quite as paranoid or thinking that the government is watching me on everything I do so, I won't be using a cam anytime soon... I just simply wonder if the USPS has a claim form for mailbox damage...
-
This is what I was thinking. It may be worth $50 to get another one and let it go. But, if it happens again, I am going to pursue it...
-
Again, I am not saying it was kids. I am thinking it was simply an accidental deal on the postal workers side of things. There has to be a claim form of some sort type of deal. Wanted to get opinions and possibly what steps to take. It was a $50 mailbox and really don't want to waste money on another one. I also do not want to file a claim and have the carrier get pissed and fuck with my mailbox or mail for time to come...
-
If it were kids, the whole box would have been beat to shit. The plastic trim that keep it weather proof and allows it to click closed was damaged. Like they may have pulled away with the door down and forgot... Plus, why would kids beat our mailbox and all the houses along the road are not? I didn't claim the Postal Worker beat the shit out of it or on purpose. I am thinking they damaged it on accident and broke the ring off...
-
So, we just bought a new mailbox a few months ago. Nothing stupid expensive, but the previous one was hit and we suspected it was kids running around, but never looked like a bat hit it, etc. So yesterday, leaving for the track and saw our mailbox door was ripped open. The trim around the edge was ripped clean off and sitting on the ground and the door was bent up. I have zero proof, but suspect that the postal worker damaged it. Is there any way to submit a claim or am I better off to just get a new one as to not piss off a letter carrier that can screw with my mail and stuff...

Oh, and with a clean title, it is well worth $1000. $1650 may be KBB, but understand that a dealer would probably give you that if cleaned up and in good working order. Again, best selling Kawasaki...
-
You'll never get it for $500 unless she is absolutely uneducated. Which it sounds like she isn't if she is rattling off that info. I'd say offer her $750 and she gets the title. Do some legwork today and make some calls and ask as if you were her and give the scenario. See what they say. Report back here also what you find as I am interested...
-
The title isn't going to be an issue for racing it. Or track days, etc... You can sell it with a Bill of Sale, but you definitely need the seller to do a Bill of Sale, record address and license number and really, I would want a Notary present to stamp the Bill of Sale. But, you can do just a simple Bill of Sale... But, understand that when you go to resell the bike, you are going to have a machine that while right now is a trendy bike to race, is going to be a tough to sell with a Bill of Sale and race plastics on it. Pretty niche class right now and a fairly unpopular machine. Street-wise, it is the number one selling bike for Kawasaki. It has some street value. Thus, why I would pursue the title. He really should be able to apply for a lost title... Plus, he lives in Ohio and I assume, works in Ohio so, he needs to get it registered here anyways. He can't do that with it not having a title... I am almost certain it would take a trip to the Title Office and cost him a few bucks to get one done... Being out of state might be the issue, but not sure on that...

Perhaps they ought to be left there like roadkill.

Sorry to bust your balls, but you are as bad as the guy that tells me the reasons he doesn't wear a helmet is because the government ain't gonna keep him down. Do you tell the insurance company that you do triple digit speeds sometimes? Do you tell them that you don't always wear full leather on the street? Do you tell them that you sometimes might have a few drinks and then take off on your bike? Do you tell them that you sometimes rip through traffic because you are running late? Not saying you do a single one of these, but there are a ton of bikers that do. Sportbike, cruiser, sport touring, etc. All these groups of riders do things that would raise their rates if an accident occurred because of them. Again, if no helmet law, you can say that it is ignorant to not wear gear. You can also do the community a favor and educate the reasons to wear gear. I used to go to elementary and middle schools and promote bicycle helmet safety and use the racebikes and our gear as examples of what we wear and why and promote the use of helmets by kids and when they ride their bikes. We'd give helmets away from Bell and stuff like stickers, posters, etc. The idea was to get them started on safety and promote that they use this mentality when they grow up. Do something constructive vs. labeling and acting like they screw your life up... -

Is there a helmet law? If not, who gives a shit? I guess if people exercise their freedoms, they are squids. I can promise you that some of the riders you see not wearing helmets are not squids and can provide a BUNCH of examples of riders with even full gear that ARE squids. How we all label each other and segregate groups like the HD guys apparently are the only ones that do not wear helmets... Point is simple and stated well by Mags... I don't give two shits about a citizen that makes their own (right, wrong, smart or stupid) decision. If there is a law and they are not wearing one? Then maybe jump their shit. When a person tries and justifies not wearing a helmet and the reasons are really ignorant? Jump their shit. Otherwise, who cares? We have more than enough full gear wearing riders that give us a bad name... -
Edited...

$1000 is probably about right. The title issue is going to cause a problem, though. He really needs to just go and apply for a lost replacement title before he sells it...

Anyone interested in a (virtually) complete track day package?

Since you are not selling it with the trailer, willing to part with the TRS separately? $150... -
Few Dunlop Race Slicks. GREAT track day stuff!
Moto-Brian replied to Moto-Brian's topic in LBTS GLWS
I only run slicks anymore since the RC8 takes bigger tires. I wouldn't suggest the GPAs for your CBR as they are really designed and intended for the 600s. The UK GP DOTs would work as they have a 200 rear that would be advised for the 1000... The US slicks are really good and honestly, they are lasting very well under stress. Moto Series sells them at the same price as Race Tire Services that is the official supplier for race Dunlops... -
I'd help ya also if ya need a tow.

Will be there for the Moto Series race on the 1st of July... I also travel through at times and could meet up when hitting Pittsburgh, etc... -
DUDE!!! Sick stuff with the MTB bike. Where do you ride to get that kind of riding area with jumps, etc? I no longer have a DJ, but my Niner RIP is an All Mountain, but not worthy of such terrain as you pictured. That's awesome, man!

I'm not denying that it could be on there, but I find it fishy the form that was copied... Is that from you or the guy on the forum? Not sure where firearms is a "habit" as the others listed are considered. I also think that it is a legit question to be asked by any medical person if they are possibly going to be servicing your needs in your home. No different than a school not allowing handguns or weapons by visitors... The medical professionals have the right to know the environment they are entering... Just my $.02...

One thing to consider is the way one rides also... Think of it this way - if you are working harder on your bike and not so efficiently, you will tire more quickly than if you become more efficient. So, seat time is key of course, but if the wallet will not allow more track days and seat time to get better at riding more efficiently, then try getting some off road work in. The idea is that the longer you last and the longer you can focus and ride, the better overall you will become. You can lift until you are looking like the top body builder in the world and never be able to ride a 20 minute moto... Cardio and core training is a must and with the rigors of racing and longer riding, you need to build your system up to that. You don't have to be an MX superstar - trust me, I am not even close - but riding a two wheeled machine in an MX/SX/Off Road environment, allows you to build your ability for one, but also build your efficiency on a bike and build your tolerance as you get deeper into the sessions...
