The second most shocking thing about this video is that any of the Isle of Man Grand Prix riders can straddle a motorcycle with cojones the size of kettle bells. The first is that Brian Purdy — the one whose bike went up in flames — escaped with relatively minor injuries. The crash occurred during a Manx practice session late last month on the Snaefell Mountain Course (237 riders have been killed there since 1911). Purdy was airlifted to a hospital, where he was treated for a broken arm and other injuries. Then there's the unidentified guy with the mounted camera, whom Purdy passes near Schoolhouse Corner. He rides through the flames and avoids Purdy as he lies prone on the street.

And these guys are the amateurs.

[UPDATE 2: Thank jimpunkrockford for finding a replacement video.]

  2. yer bike made of sugar?

For those with less than fully-faired bikes, there could be a lot of strange things going on when water gets up in the bike.

SV owners love how the front tire sprays water right on the Cyl #1 spark plug boot when riding in the wet. Ask me how I know. It makes for bad times if it's not sealed properly.

  3. You seem to have a very myopic view of the "bigger unions" and what they do. And, I don't think you understand how strategic outsourcing decisions are made (Like, why are many of the Cadillacs still built in the US? Why are Camaro's built in Canada? If everything was so cheap in Mexico, they'd ALL be down there right?), and I don't think you realize what percentage "labor" really makes up on the production of a new automobile. Nor, do I think you understand the different subsidies the workers overseas and even in Mexico (I've visited a few maquliadoras) are provided by or mandated that company provide by the governments.

Of course, I can only speak about the auto industry because it's near and dear to me, but I surmise the other "bigger unions" got where they are because of mutual agreements and collective bargaining in good faith between the "management" and the "laborers".

Plus, it seems you've fallen into the trap that I see a lot of other non-"bigger union" people fall into, and that's bitterness. Bitterness of what the "bigger unions" have fought for in their respective industries that you didn't get a slice of when you were coming through your life path.

Kinda funny we're talking about this on LABOR Day. I've never belonged to a union, but I do have the day off today - I dunno about you, but I tip my hat to the "bigger unions" for that.

His grammar is lazy, and he thinks vtwins are slow yet wants your thumper... hoookay then.

This trader seems like a goober from his ad. I hope you get a deal, but I bet this guy thinks his turd is really a golden egg. Or, your first instinct about something being shady may be the correct one.

  5. If you can change the meetspot Taco Bell at the Rt 90 / Rt 254 interchange I might be able to help you out. (Exit for LCCC)

But, if it's at Midway, I'd miss my dinner reservation at 7:15.

Ohh... and keep in mind I know NOTHING about decade-old Triumphs, and I'll be in semi-dress clothes so I probably won't be able to crawl around and under it.
