  1. I've always felt closer to the lower life forms than to humans, and this has been a constant theme throughout my life. We had one dog during our travels as I was going through my teen years, and I will never forget him. When my parents put him down I was not living with them but I knew he was getting sick. Sorry to hear about your friend. Get another one, once you're ready. A dog and a loving home always go together...

  2. I'm on Facebook just to see if anyone that I know has died or is in jail. Perhaps five minutes at the most and then I'm gone. It is an attention whores' wet dream and a great place to go if you want to waste time reading about how pathetic people are.

  3. 170 miles on the Warrior today. Went east on 172 to 30, then hit 7 south to Rt.40, afterwards took Rt.9 back towards Canton. Rt.9 was great but I took it slow for the most part. No rain at all but we need it. I had on a full-face helmet, racing jacket, and gloves with jeans. Boots as well. There were plenty of people in shorts on cruisers though. Not I...

  4. Wild snakes can be picked up without any trouble, as long as you know what you're dealing with. The constrictors of North America can be pretty mellow but that can vary among individual snakes. Watersnakes are aggressive for the most part, as well as the racers. My first store-bought snake was a Ball Python, one of the most docile snakes that you can purchase. Perhaps the reason why so many people fear snakes is that during the early days of our species, we were exposed to so many dangerous ones in our original continent, Africa, and it would have been adaptive to avoid an encounter with the numerous deadly reptiles. Or we are just a bunch of pussies...

  5. Ohio has only three species of venomous snakes. Two rattlers and then the copperhead, which is a close relative of the cottonmouth, which is NOT found in Ohio. When inbred people see a snake in the water, it is always a cottonmouth, just because they like to keep it in the family and avoid actually reading any sort of literature on the subject. Non-venomous watersnakes have a saliva that contains an anti-coagulant that prevents the blood from clotting, so you may bleed a bit if you get bit. They also like to throw up their last meal when captured, which I have seen firsthand. I have also seen footage of watersnakes actually coming up to a person and taking fish from their hands. Cottonmouths tend to be very laid-back snakes for the most part and don't thrash about and strike often when caught. Youtube has plenty of footage of those magnificent animals and most of the time they do the usual gaping, which is how they got their name. The Bible is bullshit as well:)

  6. Copperheads are the least dangerous of the venomous snakes in Ohio, and as far as I know, deaths are very rare. Leave them alone and they will never be a problem unless you almost step on one. I almost stepped on a rattler once, and now when I am in the wilderness, I pay attention. The bite of a Copperhead is very painful, however. What people don't realize is the more you panic after you get bit, the quicker the poison goes through your system, with your heart-rate increasing and everything. Snakes are a very important part of the ecosystem and should be respected when they are encountered...

  7. Sometimes I just put a helmet on and go for a ride. Jeans, motorcycle boots, and a t-shirt. It feels great too. Most people that I see on cruisers don't even wear a helmet, just some shades and a cigarette. It should always be a choice.

  8. Yeah, I sold the CBR and got a really nice Yamaha Midnight Warrior, a nice power cruiser that does very well in the twisties, for being a heavier bike. The handling must be felt to be appreciated and being upright for once is also nice. I wish I had seen my wreck in its entire glory, including what I did wrong.

  9. All you have to remember when you're on a ride with UP, especially when it's your first time out, is to ride your own ride and see him at the next stop sign. When I wrecked he was behind me. How often does that happen?

  10. I spent all weekend at the Riders Edge course otherwise this would have been a great ride for a bigger bike. Someday I will put on my full leathers and really see how much speed I can get away with in the corners with a v-twin muscle-cruiser that handles more like a sportbike. Still getting to know the bike...

  11. I like a few Harley's and someday I may own one, once I get tired of having a perfectly engineered Jap bike. A guy on a sportbike the other day was with a small group of riders at a stop-light and decided to give his bike a few twists of the throttle. Then I did the same and he realized who had the sweetest sounding pipes, me, nodded a few times and off they went. When Adam Carolla can spit enough cum out of his mouth to start a rant, he is spot on...

  12. I also live in Canton and I use 77S to get to the backroads quicker than cutting through town. I'm always up for meeting new people as long as they realize that I like to relax and take in the scenery as opposed to corner carving. Every ride is a good ride...

  13. I wrecked last year and didn't get hurt yet I was saddened by what happened to my beautiful CBR. One wrong decision by me and I was down just like that. Now I have a slower bike that won't tempt me to take the turns like I did before but at the same time it's almost as fun as the CBR. My parents could have told me to quit riding but they know how important it is to me so they were just glad that I walked away. My mom had to co-sign for my last two bikes, both of them super-sports. She trusts my judgement but knows that shit happens every once in awhile. Life...

  14. I have a 85hp cruiser so I can't outrun someone as easily as back when I had the 1000RR, so now it's going to have to be my .357 in a tankbag for quick access. Loaded with 125gr hp ammo from Double Tap of course. Sportbikes seem to take all the heat these days and I tend to do no more than 10 over the limit when I'm out, keeping a low profile. There was gravel all over today so if I ever get another sportbike, it will be to hone my skills at the track. I did feel good after riding about 110 miles on my Warrior. It's difficult to say what you would do in a situation when you're behind a computer screen but taking matters into your own hands has its many drawbacks. You are safe, that's what's important...
