This bike has a salvage title, but you can't tell by the way it looks and runs.

Per the previous owner, his girl dropped the bike in the parking lot - at which time a bolt that holds the fairing to the frame on the left side broke off in the frame, so they totaled the bike. He removed and replaced the bolt, there was no other damage other than cosmetic stuff which is light.

I am just done with riding I think. I don't enjoy riding alone, always concerned that I'm gonna miss a patch of gravel and wreck. Or that some stupid a$$ in a cage won't see me and ruin my day/life. IMO, if you have these thoughts in your mind all the time while you're on the bike, you probably shouldn't be. So - I'm getting out of the riding game.

I paid $3300, and replaced the rear brake pads and rear tire (dunlop qualifier). Priced it down to $2500 because the front tire needs to be changed (not bad, but should be replaced very soon), also the chain needs to be replaced. I'd also recommend doing the front/rear sprockets at the same time. So I figured $2500 is a fair price.

I did mount some turn signals on it that you don't see on the pics. Bike works 100% fine and can be ridden for the rest of the season, but I'd recommend doing that chain asap

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night in a crash on the city’s Northwest Side.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Mark E. Justice, 40, was riding his 2008 Yamaha R6 westbound on Queensbridge Drive near Shoreline Lane at about 7:36 p.m.

Justice of Sciotoville lost control for an unknown reason and slid into parked pickup truck, CPD said.

Justice was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

He died from head and back injuries and was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m.

Columbus police continued to investigate.

Initial reports indicted the male victim was 26 years old; a CPD report corrected error.

Well the bike does have 19,600+ miles on it. Betting the rear sprocket and chain are original so I'd say its time to replace. I don't mind dropping $200 on it - gotta have those parts in working order

I'm pretty sure the guy just did the front. either way I'm buy the kit with new front/rear sprockets. They all have 45 on the rear, but there are 15 and 16 front sprocket kits.

Looking at my options for a chain replacement. Previous owner took the front sprocket down 1 tooth to 15. I'm wondering if it would make more sense to go back up to 16 teeth up front.

I think I should just go back up to 16 and experience the bike in its OEM form.

My understanding is that going down to 15 makes the acceleration faster. With 16 teeth would the power be more evenly distributed across the power band?

Benefits one way or the other, or personal preference kind of thing?

any deals out there on kits? I'm looking at bikebandit and denniskirk...about $175-$200 is about the going rate.

wonder if they'll hire out as a contractor...I have a good programming gig at Children's Hospital, but I wouldn't mind a bit more on the side

Cleaned/lubed the chain, took some tension out and re-aligned. Knocking is gone! Took the cover off the front sprocket and it looks ok, so I'm hoping it was just some typical maintenance. Have to put some time on the bike to make sure 100% its gone but the test ride had zero knocks.

Previous owner gave me a bunch of stuff when I bought the bike in a tool box. The chain will get me through the season, but I'm going to have to change it out over the winter.

grrrrrr...I can see this in my minds eye - driver stops at stop sign, doesn't look and doesn't see the bike, pulls out in front of the bike when the "bike strikes the car"....

Damn dude, glad your ok. I can totally relate to the "catch up" mentality - its how I wrecked. Good thing is you're ok, you're bike/gear can be replaced, and you can ride again with the new found understanding of "riding your own ride".

Pretty sure I got both spacers in correctly. I'm going to check the chain first, if I get nothing there I'll pull the wheel off and check it out.

crap - ok, I'll have to take a look at the chain real close tonight and see what the deal is.

When the bike is in motion - no sound when its just sitting and idling. I can feel it in the left footped and hear it - it is also not a regular tempo, different intervals. No particular condition seems to trigger it.

I just changed the rear tire on my 99 CBR600 - not the first time I've changed a tire, but first time with this bike.

After putting the tire back on, I'm getting a knocking on the left side of the bike, right by the front sprocket. I'm guessing the knock could either be chain tension (slipping on the sprocket somehow??), or the alignment is off just a bit and the chain is going slightly off the sprocket then popping back on.

Anyone every have this problem before?? think I might be right?

What if he slipped and fell on ice after tackling and cuffing a known pedophile? Then would it be less objectionable?

If he's good enough to ride his bike 140+ mph on the highway he's good enough to sit behind a desk and do some damn work! 7 months full pay and benefits with no work? Would your job do that?? I know mine wouldn't and I have a pretty good job.

NEWARK, Ohio—The Ohio State Highway Patrol released video Friday after an off-duty trooper and off-duty officer were ticketed for allegedly driving nearly 150 mph on an interstate highway.

NBC 4’s Patrick Preston reported with the FAST FACTS.

An OSP radar plane clocked the men allegedly going those speeds, and troopers made the traffic stop.

The video was taken by two troopers’ cruisers.

Authorities said off-duty state trooper Jason Highsmith, 35, was clocked going 147 mph on Interstate 70, east of Columbus, where the speed limit is 65 mph.

Authorities said Christopher Thomas, 33, was clocked going 149 mph on I-70.

The incident happened Sunday, June 28.

Thomas has been on injured leave from the Gahanna police department since last December after he slipped and fell on ice.

Thomas continues to receive pay and benefits, including vacation time.

It took four days for troopers to issue Highsmith a ticket and eight days for Thomas.

Highsmith entered a plea of not guilty before Licking County Municipal Court Judge David Branstool Wednesday.

Thomas was expected in court next week.

4 days and 8 days to issue tickets?? Yea that would happen to any one of us. Oh and one guy was on injured leave since december and still collects pay, benefits, and vacation time?? No wonder the city/state don't have any damn money and want to raise taxes!

great! Most people just take the class - got my endorsement in california in 93...no chance to take class, just take a test but had to pass this jacked up test, put your foot down once you fail. Was never so happy as when the lady let me and another guy go one more time after putting our foot down the first time around and we made the 2nd!

Seriously if any of us got pulled over going 147 prepare for serious consequences. I think it should be that way. There is no reason to ride like that on public roads. I don't care about the rider endangering himself - just getting on a bike is risky. You just don't do that on a public road. Gives motorcyclists a bad name when people see that kind of thing, and puts other drivers on the road in danger.

I wouldn't ride with this fuck-stick for 5 feet and I hope he gets screwed just like we would. Its stupid, plain and simple.
