Anyone that knows me personally on a day to day basis knows im not like that. Im honestly fearful of nothing because im prepared for everything. If the idea of me being worried all the time came from recent threads most of them was about the rapture hoax and they were all just jokes. This guys motto or show catch phrase is "Helping you better your life when times get tough or even if they don't." That is the worst and perfect statement all at the same time just think about it for a bit. If you can take one step to improve your life if you fall on hard times like if you would lose a job but are able to capitalize on it even if you don't why wouldn't you? Nick I can prob name a few ways that you are a prepper for modern day survivalism and you don't even know it. If you are curious ill point them out to ya if you want. I only started that other thread to get people to think about how they go about their lives and incorproate a means of defense into it. If you only carry a gun then that is your only option of defense. The financial spiritual and mental ramifications of actually pulling the trigger are extremely effective. If you don't believe me ask any verteran that served or is currently serving and they will tell you. I was posing another option for folks. Im actually with out a firearm now at work, not cuz the company wont allow me to carry but because I don't wanna beat the hell out of my nice expensive gun. Lol I carry a firearm not cuz im scared to walk outside without one, I carry because its my right and if I have to use it to defend my life or someone elses and I trust my abilities over the next guys. Our society suffers from normalcy bias. They don't wanna think about the what ifs cuz the will disturb their bubble of rainbows and unicorns. It hit me about three or five months back when carrie came home and said well the company is selling and im not sure wtf is gonna happen. That was when I realized I was prepared to handle a big catastrophe like having to bug out and go to a safe place but I wasn't ready to handle a small and more likely disaster like a job loss. I don't k.ow if you get where im coming from or not. But im not scared of anything. Im still as easy going as I have always been.

Far from it dood. You just gotta listen to it a few times and see what I mean. There is a lot of talk about gardening, selfdefense, finance, preparedness, and money saving ideas. I have taken a lot away from it and thought I would share. Actually this is where the last thread is where I got the idea from.

I have been listening to this podcast for a almost two months now. I really enjoy it but have been debating on bringing it to the forum. When people hear of survivalism they think of either black helicopters or living in a mountain cave, sorry to disappoint but his is neither of that. This podcast focuses more along the lines of modern day survivalism. I have gotten some great ideas and from this guy. The website is www.thesurvivalpodcast.com and for android users you can download the free app. Search for survive and it will come up as one of the first result, its the one with the ant as the logo. For the iphone folks you can to to the itunes store and download the podcast for free. Both places have a back log of episodes. I believe the itunes has 40 and the droid app has back til christmas. I have listened to nearly all of the shows back to christmas and have only found one or two I didn't find something in them to take away as new knowledge. Let me know what you think.

I understand what you mean but if you are in say a sporting event and some guy has to much to drink and don't like that you are rooting against his team. At first its not noticeable but as the drinks continue its more apparent. Games over he is pissed cuz his team sucks and stroke of bad luck winds you and him up in the same parking lot but durring the whole walk he is persistant in badgering you. When it comes to a point where he actually confronts you or me I would already have enough time to know this guy is drunk and im almost to my car so just hit him with some spray to buy time to get to my car out of harms way. That to me seems more logical than taking lethal measures. Like I said earlier, guns are for ax wielding maniacs, mace is for annoying drunks. If you follow the laws and try to avoid the situation like you are supposed to you should have enough time to make the choice of which implement to utilize.

The key is to remove you from the situation. If something starts you try to avoid the conflict. I have a new motto lately I don't go to stupid places with stupid people and do stupid things. Bars aren't stupid places but when people start puffing up and it looks like something might happen ill remove myself from that place before it turns stupid, that either means moving to the other end of the place or leaving completely. And personal protection to me isn't a fashion show lol. If I look like a woman carrying a small thing of pepper spray im fine with that. If it keeps me from having to shoot some drunk asshole cuz he is drunk and making a bad life choice im ok with that. In the other thread the newb asked if we just carried to feel like hard ass. I carry for my protection and if I have layers of protection with my gun as my last option. If shit got ugly real fast I would not hesitate to skip straight to final option. Everyone that makes the decision to carry a gun needs to know that from the moment you stick it in tour pocket or holster it on your side any fight or conflict you get in there will be a gun involved, even if its never drawn.

With all the threads about carrying and all the concern about the new law lately had me thinking. How many of everyone on here only carry a firearm? It may seem like a simple dumb question but there is an old saying, " if your only tool is a hammer everything looks like a nail." I have been contemplating other "tools" lately especially since I plan on being in bars with my firearm and sometimes when I choose to drink without it. Other members have brought this up before addressing martial arts as their secondary or LTL form of protection. So again I ask do you carry a firearm and a less than lethal weapon? I carry my lcp in my front pocket and a knife in my other pocket. But since this has been on my mind lately im thinking im gonna start carrying a small thing of pepper spray on my key ring. Sounds like you had a seperation issue. It was a pretty common occurance for awhile. Since all gas now has a certain percent of ethanol in it we were having a problem with the petroleum and the ethanol seperating. Its pretty much fixed at this point and they got it back to normal. We had it happen to us and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. we had to call up the transport company and they came back and pumped out about 8 thousand gallons and replaced it.
