We'll be riding deserts, mountains, redwood forests and oceanside highways. A little bit of everything so no one type of bike is better suited than another. Pretty much any type of bike - aside from a cruiser - would be suitable.

Dunno if this belongs in this section or not , but here goes.... We're looking for another rider to join us on our annual ride out west this year and I thought I'd post here to see if anyone wants to come along. We have three going so far and would like a fourth to keep even numbers for purposes of splitting rooms, etc. Riders so far: Me (Honda ST1100) Dave (Yamaha FZ1) and Joe (Yamaha R1). Not a speed contest by any means, but you'd have to at least be able to keep up with the slowest bike, which would probably be my ST1100. I'm old but not all that slow. Schedule: -Friday, May 30 – Indy to Denver, CO - 1,050 miles -Saturday, May 31 – Ride to Park City, Utah – 515 miles –Hampton Inn, Park City, Utah, two rooms reserved at $139 per night each -Sunday, June 1 – World Superbike Races -Monday, June 2 – Ride Park City, Utah to Reno, Nevada -520 miles -Tuesday, June 3 – Reno / Tahoe to Shelter Cove, California – 375 miles -Wednesday, June 4 – Hang in NorCal -Thursday, June 5 – Hang in NorCal -Friday, June 6 – Done hangin’ yet? -Saturday, June 7 – Shelter Cove, CA to Prospect, OR – 313 miles -Sunday, June 8 – Crater Lake, Oregon -Monday, June 9 – Prospect, OR to Twin Falls, Idaho – 551 miles -Tuesday, June 10 – Idaho Falls, ID to Yellowstone National Park -Wednesday, June 11 – Yellowstone National Park -Thursday, June 12 – Yellowstone National Park to Cheyenne, Wyoming - 428 miles -Friday, June 13 – Cheyenne to Denver, CO – 102 miles ( we can do Rocky Mountain National Park or Mount Evans this day as well). -Saturday, June 14 – Ride back to Indy I've done this two week trip west 5-6 times and it's always a good time. We've been to all of the locations listed and can pretty much promiseyou have a great ride, see cool sites and ride some fantastic roads. Any takers?????

Just flip her over and go to town!

And ya gotta wonder if the Russians can afford to develop it enough to produce very many of them. Still, cool stunt video!

She had a face that could stop a clock - this was her best side by far. And, she was about 35 years old*. Looked 15 years younger from the back. (*note - yes, I'd still hit it)

More importantly, how was the beer? I'll definitely be in Chicago on the 26th - see you there.

As far as the Chicago Rider's group goes, it's looking like a no show. Not one of them has expressed any interest in going. So I may be the sole CR person there. They tend to do mostly city ridingand a track day every now and then - that's about it. But if the weather's good, I'm still in. Eric

I'll see if I can get some maps from the convention and visitor's bureau and mark them up for you guys. They usually have some pretty decent maps for free.

Have access to a milling machine by any chance? I use 3/32" carbide end mills and mill the holes. Hell of a lot easier than snapping drill bits off all afternoon while using a hand drill and a bench vise. But it's still a tedious and time consuming job.

In order to escape the HD lowlifes, we stayed in St. Petersburg this year. Nice little 170 mile each way commute to Daytona, but that got us on the bikes more and it was probably the best part of the week. Met up wiith these two HD guys at a rest area. Broken down HD and they had no clues as to how to get it running again. Helped them for an hour as they didn't have any tools or flashlight, but never did get it running again, They had to have it towed to Tampa. Probably won't go back for a few years - at least until the memory of how crappy the place is wears off.

So why go at all? Well, I've been on a crew member on a few teams over the years, so I went to the race mostly. Been a couple of times because I didn't know any better. And this year just becasue I was sick of the winter crap and wanted to get warm for a week. And there's some cool stuff to see...

Took some pics at Bike Week this year - here are some.... I agree with Gixxie750 - the traffic is horrendous, the hotels grossly overpriced, full of loud HD's and the dirtbags that ride them as well as more squids than you can count. The place is a shithole. There are more cops than you can shake a stick at and you'll get cited for just about anything they can think of. On rides in the Ocala National Forest, we saw cops hiding in the weeds and trees with laser to catch speeders. And this was miles from Daytona. These roads are usually not used not at all but they are crawling with cops this week. We often saw large groups of bikes, mostly HD's, pulled over at the side of the road. Kinda makes you feel as if you're being hunted.

No steel undies, but I am gonna fan my ass with a machete if he's ever around!

Gotcha. Just signed up...

The Circle in the middle of downtown is where you'll wanna be. It'll be beyond packed with bikes as will most of downtown. That's where most of the bars and clubs are. Also a section of town called Broad Ripple has a few bars in it - mostly a younger crowd up there. I'll make some maps of the areas if you'd like.

A few, I'm on the 1098-Forum.com and Sport-Classic.net. And maybe a few others that I don't remember, but most active on those two.

Quit looking at my butt, you're making me nervous!

Very true. Could be snowing or it could be 80 degrees and sunny. Just have to wait until it gets closer and see.

Thanks! Here's a couple of pics for you....

I'm new here and just saw this post, so I'm jumping in kinda late. If you guys need any help with restaurants, directions or any other kind of help with regards to Indy, just let me know and I'll help you out all that I can. Looks like you got a decent price on a hotel. It's on the edge of the eastside 'hood, so bring locks for your bikes and trailers. There's a few restauranst within walking distance of that hotel, too - so that's good. There's an AMA Flat track race on the Saturday night before the GP race and Speedway races on Friday night. Both are great forms of racing to watch, even for people that aren't really into them. Eric

Hi all, My name is Eric andf I live in Indy. Satan told me about this site so I headed over here and registered. I went to Upper Arlington High in Columbus and to Ohio University in Athens, so I'm kinda familiar with Ohio. Used to live in Cincinnati for a bit as well. Looking forward to doing some riding in Ohio this summer and meeting up with a few of you. Eric

I'm a huuuuuge pussy so I'll be in a hotel someplace. Laying in my nice, clean bed in air conditioned comfort while watching TV just after a nice hot shower.
