    Yes, that's not a boat. That's a set of floats with a deck.

     

    IMO pontoon boating is not boating at all. Its like owning a Prius and calling yourself a car guy.

     

    I have owned a few boats-I have been lucky to at least break even on all of them. But if you have never owned one I would rent or go out with a buddy a few times, and see if its for you. If you dock it, its a big expense. If you trailer it, its a big pain in the ass. If its a boat work a fuck, it will suck down gas like a savage. Its like a hot hooker-looks great on paper but you always feel remorse immediately after use.

     

    Have u not seen newer pontoons now days? They come with wakeboard towers, big motors, and can handle decently. Its not just a big barge that cant move anymore.

     

    See below, how pissed would u be in your twin big block fast boat getting rocked by a pontoon.

    I guess I don't know if it is 'legal' in Ohio but there are TONS of people that grill on their boats in the swim area at Alum every weekend. Not with a full-size propane grill but with camper grills that do just fine for a few people.

    I swear when taking my license it said no, also a ranger said you couldnt have a open flame on a boat (bbq).

     

    Trying to find a list of laws but cant really find it.

     

    I agree though just dont be a yahoo and you wont get harassed.

    Pontoon u can tube off of with a 75+hp motor so if u keep it down the road u can still use it.

     

     

     

    Boats like anything break and need mantained. Well worth the money.

     

    Also as a heads up, not sure if u can have a bbq on a boat in ohio. I would think u would need to take it ashore. I could be wrong though.

    The best boat is the one you don't own. Get a friend with a boat and go out with them...

    Whats your price range you want to spend is going to be the big key factor here.

     

    Have u ever gone on a pontoon? Alum creek and buckeye lake u can rent them out. Althought they have tiny motors that go 13mph ( yes i have clocked it on gps lol).

     

    Maybe rent one yo ensure u guys do like it.

    You actually did say you broke the law, as you said, I didn't stop for 3 full seconds, that, is breaking the law. I am with you, it sucks, but, there are a lot of guys out there who use these stops as fishing expeditions.

     

    I have been stopped for window tint, license plate issues, loud exhaust etc....., every time it's the same shit, I know why I got stopped, they are looking for alcohol violations, drug use, warrants....

     

    I have also gotten speed camera tickets, my opinion, I own it, I pay the fine, I should know better, but we all do stupid shit.

    get out of here with your logic...

     

    flashing red and blue lights to begin with :)

    I would like to shoot this weekend as well, and I've never been to an indoor range. I've been told that weekends are packed and you usually have to wait at most places around Columbus.

     

    I was also considering Ohio Valley out east, but their site gives almost no information other than hours.

     

    Anybody know if the outdoor state park range at Delaware is still open or closed for the season? Or even Deer Creek?

     

    Ohio valley hands down. Never a wait, cheap, spacious, good selection of guns to rent. You can bring your own ammo.

     

    I am a member at Bullet Ranch in Pataskala. Not the biggest but i have not had any issues getting a lane. It is only 1.5 years old too.

    Yea if you like paying out the ass to rent a range. Was not pleased with this place when i went a month ago.
