Aaaaaaa, Its a yota in wolverines clothing.
Do yourself a favor VW, peel off those asshat junkie stickers.
I've got nothing personal against them but all the stickers have been removed in the sanding-fiberglass-duraglassing process. It's almost ready for some primer.

The guy that did the welding is Keith, im not 100% on his prices, but he is EXTREMELY reasonable, and local to gahanna. Not to mention he can make about anything you would want... anything.
Joe, youre welcome for the help. Thats what friends are for man. I just hope you have a blast on her at barber this weekend! Im fucking jealous im not going man!
OH and like vw151 said, Robert is an awesome guy. I will try to bring him out to an event. This is Robert...
lolz
Yes, Robert has been a huge help. He has 2 GSXR track bikes and knows the bikes really well. He is probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet, so if you ever meet him..... well, be nice to him cause he deserves it.

Two questions....
First... Can we get some photos like that of that beautiful S2R??
Second... What is supposed to be in 'PaperTowel Dick's' holster??
I am not sure what to say about Rob's dick holster. however......
I will always post pics of the monster when asked. I whore pictures all the time and that bike is sooo pretty these days. The insurance company helped me out with it last year when I had a mishap down in south east OH. The first two are as it is today.... minus some tech spec grippy stuff on the tank. I was getting it all ready to track this year when it occurred to me that wrecking it again would cost more then just buying a pre-loved WERA raced gixxer. Not to mention the fact that a GSX-R750 is just plain more suited for the track. I've ridden the monster at the track and an old GSX-R600 and I've ridden some other superbikes. The monster does fine at the track but the superbikes are just meant for the track. Anyway' date=' that's how I ended up with the GSXR.

check out this animated gif lol.
here are a few from in between when the engine covers where still off.
didn't have the header yet.
heres one of the damage from the wreck PRE-new parts.
here are a couple from before I had done any mods only a few months after I got her.
LOL, told you I was a whore. I'll post up more pics of the track bike when she's ready for barber. I have a feeling she won't be all done by then but the bike will be good enough to ride.
-
Holy crap! You took her all apart!!!!! Do you have any final product pics? You are putting some seriouse love into her!
No final pics yet but they will follow. Still need to put it all back together but it's almost done. Would have liked to have been able to go through the forks too but not enough time. I can't wait to ride at Barber.
Once it's done it'll be all black. Probably just primer before the end of the week though.
-
Was the valve problem fixed before you got it or was that part of the TLC it needed.
no valve problem. Just checking tolerances. They were in but close to needing shimmed. I'll probably shim them after barber.

busch light, coors light bouleit burbon. It all depends. We like drinking and working on bikes. It's been an eventful 2 weeks. I just hope we can get it buttoned up this week before barber.
BTW, anyone who is seeing themselves in these pictures. Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it a lot.
Lots of desmohio love in here and a special thanks to Robert, who isn't quite as into the forums as us computer nerds.

I decided the monster was too pretty to risk trashing at the track. I found this GSXR 750 fairly cheap on the WERA forum. Anyway, check it out. Actually, you guys know him. Gixxie750 sold it to me. Had a lot of good parts, was a pretty good deal but needed a little love.
More progress working on the bike has been fun. Need ot have it finished before shit coming weekend.
found a problem with the threads in the drain plug. It was interesting having my buddy's fabricator fix that. I suppose there are simpler ways to do it.
Funny, you get a race bike and all your friends want to work on it. I dunno if its a tom sawyer sort of thing or what but I feel pretty lucky.

Funny Kevin!

PM sent about rains
-
I'll take it for $250 shipped, if it will fit the bike you just sold me and you can accept paypal.
-
you ever sell this?
-
My sympathies to Bill's Family and Friends. I met him several times at Desmohio events and he was a very genuine and good person.
-
meh it should be fine, I've seen all kinds of cars towing bikes, M3's, etc...Is that baby a 6spd or DSG?
6spd. I'd be more worried if it was DSG but I think it'd probably still be fine.
-
I would like to know just how it does with towing.
I would like to get on for my Legacy, but I worry about the transmission.
Check with the dealer to see what the tow rating for your car is. Mine is tow rated to 2000lbs with this hitch because it's a class 1 hitch which is actually plenty to even tow 3 bikes on a light trailer. I'm interested to see how it feels with just the 1 bike. I'll report back in about a week when I go to pick my bike up from the shop.
-
There are Euro Hitches available for about $400 that mount behind the bumper plastic but I wasn't really into spending that kind of money. It detracts from the appearance of the car some but I don't care. It can tow my bike and that is gonna be huge.
-
It's ugly I know, but it will allow me to trailer my bike to the track and shop. And let's face it my GTI just isn't nearly as pretty as my ducati anyway.

Just to help out with the gear thing. I think it's $75 to rent leathers at the track. I was able to buy a decent 1 pc. teknic leather suit for $300 here
http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/
Granted you still want boots, a helmet and gloves and a back protector but it's a start. It seems pretty obvious to me, a fall on the street is probably gonna be worse than a fall on the track so I just wear my gear all the time. At the very least I'm in my jacket, gloves, an over the ankle boot and helmet. My health is valuable to me.
As far as freeballin or whatever everyone else does. I wear a coolmax undersuit when I'm in my full leathers. It not only keeps you dry but it also makes the leather suit go on and off easier.
I am signed up for my first track day on July 28th at Mid-Ohio in novice. Euro bikes only though, sorry guys (well most you guys, not Kevin though). I'm looking forward to learning the proper technique for riding fast.
Another good site for gear is www.sportbiketrackgear.com
or you could even go to Iron Pony and check out their stuff. They have some good teknics closeouts still on jackets.

It sounded to me like he took the $25 motorcycle safety course which qualifies you to get you motorcycle endorsement on your license if you pass there tests at the end.
I took this course last summer and it was probably the best thing I could have done as a new rider. It teaches you the basics of turning, looking through the turn, operating the clutch, shifting, panic braking, braking and turning, maneuvering and other related motorcycle skills. It's the basics but it's the sort of stuff people take for granted. It is a little mind blowing to me that people ride so long with out taking it and with out a license when the course is only $25 and you use their bikes. Either way the course is a great place to learn all the little things you need to know. They said in the course that a rider that has taken the course walks away with skills similar to that of a rider that has been riding casually for 2 years with out the course. Take that for what it's worth but it kind of makes sense. It would take a long time to figure all of the stuff they teach you out on your own.

I got rained on as well.
-
right on, well glad you aren't pissed at me. Either way, I think I've sufficiently got my licks in on this matter. It was damn funny.
-
So tell me Joe... How exactly is your bike gettin to Ducati of Indianapolis this weekend again? Oh yea thats right... Im taking it, or am I?
If only I considered the consequences before I speak. Sorry man I just couldn't hold back with all of whodey's taunting and then princess asking what happened.
Seriously everyone we all do stupid shit, I'm sure this will come back to bite me in the future.
Kevin, to be fair, I'll by you a couple of beers at QSL next time for posting up on here. I actually feel a little bad.
-
OK so what is everyone talking about??? By now u should know just how inquisitive I am.........do tell!
Sorry Kevin, I am cringing a little while posting this but I would expect nothing less if it was me.

unfortunately it looks as though directly linking to a thread on desmohio.com is not an option so just look for the thread titled
"Yotaman Is Now The front Runner For The Sambuca Trophy" on www.desmohio.com under the General Discussion section and all of your questions will be answered.
Take it easy on him, he has already caught a ton of shit from us guys over in the ducati forum.
Got a track bike GSX-R750, tons of pics of preperation process
