  1. ^you are referring to sprocket change t-dude,

recon is referring to the chain width. and yes recon typically for weight savings, unsprung weight etc... less rotating weight can lead to better performance.

plus normally at least the yamaha factory come stock with 532 pitch, the 520 is the most common size out there right now so if you ever need sprockets and chains when the time comes its easily accessible.

there is talk about chain life with the 520 vs 530, but with the prices of chains nowadays it becomes a null statement IMO.

  2. maybe come down closer to the cbus area with your bike and parts? i know there are tons of people willing to help around these parts.

i would but i've got exams followed by spring break coming up.

  3. me and basshunter are bff's lol

sounds like it'd be neat to go. i think i have over 2000 techno songs... is that too much?? i just got crazy with torrent files, downloaded 10, 100 song volumes of house/techno music and then a few more albums...

it all started with sandstorm on the radio.

  4. dont get me wrong, carbs will last. its just a PITA when you see all the guys getting their engine dyno tuned right then and there and go home with a tuned bike, where you have to go home, dig into the carbs, figure out which jet to change and decide between a 158 or a 160 or the many other choices, go back and try again...

it is possible also to convert a first gen R6 carb'd bike to FI for around 200-700 dollars depending on what kind of deals you get, also may be possible on other bikes, but for sure 99-02 R6's. Someone did it on the R6 board im on, going to be my next winter project.

  5. love that you want an R6 first, but at that price its going to be hard to find a good FI one. do what i should have done and saved a little bit more for a decent second gen and up R6, or at least a bike with FI.

carbs, albeit classic and totally awesome, are a bitch. somewhat similar to girls.

  6. unless you have already done that and gotten the plastic piece out and are talking about separating the needle from clip...

been a while but on mine i think it was just free floating with a spring or something holding it in place. pics?
