require? no. should really get to use them? yes. they don't warm up as quickly as street tires, so you'll be spending the whole session getting them up to temp, and by the time they do come to temp you're pulling in for break.

I've been in contact with Rachel Heine, PR at Nationwide and Ed Youngblood, director of OMC, and threw an idea at them a few weeks ago and it got approved tonight at their board meeting!! extremely stoked and can't wait for it to come together. you can take a gander at mine chachi. it'll blow your mind... mahdey - that bike is not a very good street bike, so if you're feeling uncomfortable or whatever just know that it wasn't made to be a comfy street bike. also if you're having trouble with turns... go faster. seriously.

REDROCKET --- i couldn't find the redrocket quote regarding insurance but insurance will cover you on track unless you have state farm (new policy). insurance will cover you in any event so long as its not a timed event (racing). see now you have no excuse not to track... _____________ yea i just saw steve's comment regarding getting new glass and just hit the quote button without reading any further. im willing to try it out still, we'll see it how it looks.

i would look seriously into Optimal Racing. they are very good quality (from what i've read on the wera board) and are extremely affordable. I've ordered a set from them and will let you know what i think.
