There are not very many good places near c-bus, I used to off-road with my jeep at every construction site and dirt road i could find...painted rock is good, but far east on the Ohio river, wellsville is the best, but rumor has it that it closed down or now you have to find a way in or pay for it. It sucks because jeeps aren't allowed in waynesville or any place like it. Many spots are kept secret, at least in the jeeper community, and you need an invite to get to the place.

your woman told me you didnt have the stamina to do two rides two days in a row...no matter how quick they were! j/k

well all of those pics are planes about to break the sound barrier or have just broken the sound barrier. What you are thinking of (i think) is something very similar. It can happen on leading edges and wing tips due to the concentration and condensation of water molecules in the air combined with a sharp temperature change. easy, easy, easy...i did say the only two STEALTH planes we know of that can break the sound barrier...I know a few ATC's and there are things they can and cannot talk about and i also know quite a few military pilots. Also the higher up you are the less dense the air is so for one it is easier to break the sound barrier and for two it doesnt have as big of an impact (less noise). So yes I do know that unless it is a national air emergency military pilots will get their ass chewed (unless it is over a military range such as those out west at Nellies AFB outside Las Vegas or something similar. I didnt know there was some rule against fun speculating about something wierd that happened. Especially when its cold as balls outside and and no one can ride.

someone would have talked about it by now if it was on the radar i would think...some bored air traffic controller or pilot would have wanted to put some excitement in his life and said something to the media probably

I didnt know about the open skies thing...thats interesting especially these days with all of their huffing and puffing about everything. I also didnt know that planes could go supersonic above a certain altitude, i thought that none were allow to break it, but it makes sense that they can. My curiosity just wants to know wtf it was.

Yeah but for one they are shown on radar (unless it is the F-22 or the SR-71 being the only stealth planes that can break the sound barrier that we know of), for two fighters make a huge sonic boom because they fly relatively low, and even though they may not follow the rules, the law is very strict about sonic booms over the US and they will get shit canned unless they have a huge emergency.

I remember it! I remember saying something "WTF!" I live at an apartment complex and thought it might have been someone screwing around with the dumpsters around the property. When the trucks pick up the dumpsters it's loud a hell. But they come in the morning....It very well could have been a sonic boom...and i watched that show on area 51 and about Aurora. If it shook the house and didnt break windows it would have been very, very high.
