The 1098 is gone, replaced with............
-
First $500 takes the whole kit.
-
No longer for sale
-
Nobody...really? No one wants to at least come look at this bike? This is the chance to own a Ducati SuperBike for the same money as a gixer, r1, zx etc.
-
Price dropped

Price dropped to $12,000

Bump for a great bike and a cool dude. GLWS.
Thanks man.
You and The family going to make it to Mid-O this weekend?
-
If I had 13K I would be looking at the BMW 1000RR (brand new) or another new bike. What was the original msrp on that thing?
I hear ya, it's definitely a bike for someone that's into Ducatis. I paid around 25k with the Termi race pipe, tax, title etc. MSRP was like 21k if you were to buy one stock as I have mine now.
BTW to everyone, I will work with anyone seriously interested in buying the bike. Things are always negotiable.

i think he was saying that in this economy, a lot people dont have the funds laying around to drop on expensive luxuries.....i dont think he was saying your bike is a toilet, just that if someone is toilet shopping for their house, they are more likely to pick up a $300 toilet than a $13k granite bidet ....theres always a buyer out there, just might take a bit longer ....harder to sell a ferrari than a civic
its a gorgeous bike, goodluck with the sale! if i had the funds i would pick it up in a heartbeat
Um, ok.....That's a strange analogy though.
-
its pretty but people are hardly selling $13,000 toilets as well, which are also pretty.
Am I getting this right? You're bashing my bike in my for sale thread?
-
Pending my bike being totalled I may be interested.
Ok I still have it, let me know.
-
Very niiice.
Pic taken at the clubhouse ?
Yep, just got it back to stock and waxed up. I can't believe I'm not even getting offers on this bike, not even on craigslist. Maybe the economy really is that bad...
-
Oh damn. I missed that. Replacing 1098 with something else?
I still have the Monster so nothing new this summer. We'll see how the funds look next year. Although I'm not getting much of a response on the 1098 so who knows, maybe I'll have that for awhile too.
-
What exhaust did you end up putting on it?
I'm selling the bike so everything went back to stock.

My .02
WD-40 and a plastic bristle brush. If it's really bad and you can easily take it off, soak it in kerosene then scrub with WD-40. If it's rusted and/or any links are frozen it's time for a new chain. And no.....WD-40 WILL NOT damage the o-rings.....no matter what the internet know-it-alls tell you.
Re-lube with DuPont all purpose Teflon spray lube.
This stuff is the tits, it dries quick with a light waxy coating and will not fling off. It also penetrates the o-rings and keeps them lubed and conditioned. I used this stuff for the last few years on both my street bike and the 1098 track bike with excellent results. About once a month i wipe my chains down with WD and lube with this. Remember an x-ring/o-ring chain doesn't need "lubed" because it's sealed, all you need to do is keep the dirt off and keep the o-rings from drying out.

Ducati 1098S; Black w/red frame, 6,800 mi, Red DP silicone hose kit, Ohlins 25mm race valve/spring kit.
I bought this bike new in "07" and it saw only street miles that year which is a majority of the 6,800. I tracked the bike in "07" and "08" and did have a minor low side at Barber. The bike suffered only cosmetic damage which has been fixed. It is now back to 100% stock condition except for the hose kit and fork internals. It's wearing Michelin power race shoes which are a little roughed up from track use but still have plenty of meat left for street duty. I still owe about 5K on it and a payoff amount will need to be established if someone is interested in the bike. I need to sell the bike to ease some financial strain but I'm not willing to take a bath on it either.

I have a set of OEM Ducati 1098/1198 Ohlins forks that have the 25mm race valving and springs. I'm looking to see if someone wants to trade their OEM Ohlins+ $300 for my forks.

These are off my 1098 track bike with three track days on them. They have plenty of tread left for street tires or even novice track riding. They are Michelin Power Race tires, the front is a PRC 120/70-17 and the rear is a soft 190/55-17
-
that is an outstanding picture
Yeah Kendrick Kirk from MotoHD takes some damn good track pics. They had a camera there that day with a lens so big they were calling it the "Hubble".

The Y2K turbine, over 250mph.
