  1. Ohio sucks......seriously, the "best" roads are an hour or two east-south east and are no where as good as what you're use to. The up side is that Columbus is only an hour from Mid-Ohio raceway, one of the best tracks around and they have a multitude of track days all summer that are sponsored by STT(sportbiketracktime).

Welcome to the board and hope to see you at the track.

  2. i think you lose alot on the top end if you go down one in the front. If you want to do wheelies and stuff like that I'd go down one in the front but if you like going 120+ stay stock.

I went down one tooth in the front on my 1098 and it didn't really lose much on the top end. However, i just did a track day at Grattan last weekend and i can tell you it definitely kicks ass on the track with the lower gearing.

Here's a link to the gearing commander site, It'll give you an idea of how chain and sprocket changes will affect your bike. Just enter your bike make and model then click set presets and don't forget to change it from metric to sae before you start.

  3. I wrapped my Termi race pipe because it was cooking my leg, it made a huge difference. Keep in mind that the materials are expensive(about $170 through Jegs) and it's a bitch to do(it took me two days). If i had to do it over again I'd just send the pipe off and have it Jet-Hot coated, it's about the same price and not nearly the PITA as wrapping. I'm not sure it's as good at heat reduction though.

  4. O2 Sensors on bikes?? Ummmm....besides the BMW's and Buell's, which bikes would those be exactly?

Sorry, I'm used to Duc's. I researched it further and found that only the European CBR's use O2 sensors(see pic). So he's right, your bike(and i guess most US sold Jap bikes) are running open loop systems.

  5. Angel Eyes ..halo eyes..etc. Probably not legal to ride with them on if they are not 'white'..but I can't say I know anyone getting stopped for em. LED's on the frame of the bike are prob not that big of a deal, if any. Call the police up and ask em.

If you're referring to the headlights, they have to be WHITE. Adding colored bulbs and even HID's(blue tinted ones) are illegal.

  6. i believe they are OK (read: still not legal, but not illegal enough to write a ticket) as long as they are not blue and red combined and/or flashing. i had red on mine for a while last year and there were many cops that i pulled next to at stoplights and they didn't say a single thing about it.

He's right, sort of. No blue, red(unless it's on the rear) or flashing of any color. Everything else is ok.

BTW, (i see this a lot) taking your turn signals off and using hand signals is illegal. All bikes built after 1967-68 (or somewhere around there) are required to have them. Again, it's something most Columbus don't mess with unless they think you're up to something then they use it as PC to stop you.

  7. Dude, you gotta quit showing pics of that bike on here. The wife wants to know why I keep getting all chubbed up looking at a motorcycle site.

It's better if there's a motorcycle on the screen when she tip toes in and looks over your shoulder than a naked chick..........trust me.

Nice NOS btw, does that stuff taste like nitrous smells? If so, I gotta get me some.

    Naw, tastes like grapefruit.

  8. Hey everyone, it's Liz. For those of you who dont know me, you should! LOL Naw, just kidding. I live in Blacklick, ride a 2007 CBR600RR, have 3 girls, a dog, a husband, a mortgage...you know the American Dream. So anywho...Hey!

I was with you until you mentioned "husband". LOL, I like the way he falls between the dog and the mortgage.

  9. As for hurting the bike you'll be fine. Modern fuel injected bikes run a closed loop system using an O2 sensor to maintain the proper A/F ratio......to a point. The engine will spin up a bit quicker thus giving you a little more HP plus you get that nice throaty sound. But, if you really want the best exhaust sound you should just sell the CBR and buy a Ducati:D

  10. i didn't say he had to come drink, you know what happens when you assume things....you look like an ass;)

Then what's the point? And don't say for the camaraderie and stimulating conversation.:slap:

  11. Welcome, feel free to come join us at our bike night on thursday night at lodge bar.

Right, get a new bike, go drink some beer.

At least wait until after you drop it for the first time.

Oh, and welcome, congrats on the new bike. The rain looks like it's clearing out for Thursday so you should be good to go.
