Sorry, I'm used to Duc's. I researched it further and found that only the European CBR's use O2 sensors(see pic). So he's right, your bike(and i guess most US sold Jap bikes) are running open loop systems.
-
If you're referring to the headlights, they have to be WHITE. Adding colored bulbs and even HID's(blue tinted ones) are illegal.
-
He's right, sort of. No blue, red(unless it's on the rear) or flashing of any color. Everything else is ok. BTW, (i see this a lot) taking your turn signals off and using hand signals is illegal. All bikes built after 1967-68 (or somewhere around there) are required to have them. Again, it's something most Columbus don't mess with unless they think you're up to something then they use it as PC to stop you.

It's better if there's a motorcycle on the screen when she tip toes in and looks over your shoulder than a naked chick..........trust me. Naw, tastes like grapefruit.
-
What's the second one for, parts?
-
The stock ECU will do that automatically with the lambda(oxygen) sensor.
-
I was with you until you mentioned "husband". LOL, I like the way he falls between the dog and the mortgage.
-
As for hurting the bike you'll be fine. Modern fuel injected bikes run a closed loop system using an O2 sensor to maintain the proper A/F ratio......to a point. The engine will spin up a bit quicker thus giving you a little more HP plus you get that nice throaty sound. But, if you really want the best exhaust sound you should just sell the CBR and buy a Ducati:D

I'm using an A-stars two piece for both the street and track days, I'm very happy with it.
-
Then what's the point? And don't say for the camaraderie and stimulating conversation.
-
Right, get a new bike, go drink some beer. At least wait until after you drop it for the first time. Oh, and welcome, congrats on the new bike. The rain looks like it's clearing out for Thursday so you should be good to go.

All this talk about nitrous so i decided to install a kit on my bike. Yota sold it to me, he said it would help my lap times.

I thought the idea was to keep the gas cool, don't they make blankets for the bottles to help keep the gas in a liquid state until needed?

"the point is a cop who has to enforce the law isn't even sure how to interpret the ORC so how the fuck is everybody else..." That gives you guys a taste of how hard and how much of a PITA the job can be. Remember we don't make the laws we just have to interpret them, many times we have to look in the code books for one that fits the situation. There are literally thousands of laws and many as obscure as the Nos law, most officers only use a dozen or so codes on a regular basis and never know or forget about the rest. "I am not knocking the police this time" LOL, There's a first time for everything!
-
Like i said, most officers don't care or don't know about the code. Even if they do like me they'll understand that it's a drug code and the "spirit of the law" doesn't apply.
-
You guys are right, section 2925 of the ORC is the drug section. If people are getting written then this is the code being used. I'm sure it was originally written as an anti whippet/inhalation code but is being used by some creative officers to bust drag racers, some codes are open ended like this one and can fit other situations. Most people don't realize that officers have the kind of freedom that we do, just like we don't have to write a ticket for an obvious violation and can just give a warning, we can also be creative and use the letter of the law if we think the situation warrants it. I personally wouldn't write that unless someone's being a dick.

I take it he still has the stock clutch basket, what does he want for that slipper?

Yota, i think we just figured out how to keep you from smoking those front tires! Brake pads............... -
Many of you are probably to young to remember but everyone had locking gas caps in the 70's. If you figure inflation gas prices were about the same as they are now or slightly lower. Most new cars came with locking caps but they also didn't have the locking fuel doors like you see on cars now days.

Satan and i were talking about nos on bikes and cars. He told me he thought it was illegal in Ohio(i think he has first hand experience;)) and i stated that i was unaware of the code. I looked it up today and found that the law was enacted in 1997 and is a fourth degree misdemeanor(yes it's arrestable), the link is below. IMO most officers wouldn't give someone a hard time about it unless they were drag racing on a public street or driving recklessly, hell most like me probably aren't aware of the code. If you guys and gals are ever wondering about a certain code or law you should make yourself better informed and read up on the O.R.C.(ohio revised code). If you get a ticket knowing what you're being cited for can help you understand it and it makes it much easier to fight it if you choose to do so. when ever an officer issues a ticket he/she has to put the code number on the citation. You can enter that number in the ORC search box and review the code you were written. Municipal jurisdictions mirror the state codes for the most part. I highly suggest everyone does this, you'd be surprised how many times officers write the wrong code. Now, this dosen't mean the prosecutor's office won't have the officer revise the ticket if they catch it but more often than not they won't, if you show up and point it out chances are they'll toss the case especially in franklin county. For those of you in smaller communities you're probably going to have a tougher time of it, they're not as busy and are more apt to take the time to follow through with your prosecution. It's the same reason people notice that officers that work suburbs tend to be a little more "by the book" and know all the obscure traffic laws. ORC: http://codes.ohio.gov/orc Columbus codes: http://www.ordlink.com/codes/columbus/index.htm Nitrous law: http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2925.33

I guess that's when down shifting w/o a slipper would come in handy. Glad you pulled it off i bet it would have been something to see. -
Anyone ever have "tuners" try to race you on your bike?
FasDuc replied to magley64's topic in Daily Ride
Weed's a minor misdemeanor and only a ticket, It's not even worth the time to mess with. Honestly, alcohol causes more problems in our society than just about anything else.........well, that and teenagers. You know a pet peeve with a lot of officers is those stupid ass blue lights on the washer nozzles. We did 6 months in the police academy to be able to have a car with blue lights on it, no fair buying them at wal-mart. -
