While heading downtown through OSU campus the other day I saw what I'm pretty sure was your old Daytona on High Street. Was pretty cool to be on my own 675 and cruise past the first one I ever saw in person and the bike that first got me interested in these things

I'm with North Steppe right now; they aren't the worst but they're far from good. The company I'm considering renting from is called OSU Property Management...it's about the most generic name I've ever heard but the place was pretty nice.

Hey, I saw on jbot's saturday 3/20 thread that you're from near canton and are looking to get off the highway and into some twisties. I'm finally un-garaging the bike this weekend and will probably take a spin around a route I like to ride down southeast of Canton to knock the cobwebs off, let me know if you're interested in coming along and I'll let you know if I head out that direction.

Out of sheer curiosity, do you do any tuning with TuneBoy, or just Power Commander? I'm considering getting a Daytona 675 next season and I hear that TuneBoy is the best way to tune one and that a PC3/5 will cause the ECU to throw errors and trigger the check engine light.

The 08 black/gold SE is pretty hot, but I'd settle for any year in black. Then again, it may just come down to whats available in the area.

I'll keep it in mind, but I'm a long ways off from purchasing anything...I've gotta finish paying off a bit of debt and then get my 650 back to the same level cosmetically that it is mecahnically so I can sell it or trade it in for a decent price (read: it runs like a top but looks like ass right now...fucking vandals).

I hope to wander some dealerships in winter/early spring to sit on a few and make sure the ergos won't kill me...around that time I should be near-ready to buy.

I'll be a while before I pull the trigger on anything, but if my finances pan out well this winter and I can find a good deal on a used 675, there's a real chance I might be on one next season

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a 675 next season. Can you recommend any sites I could use to read up on the bike? (Actually I dont even know if you still have yours...I havn't been on OR in forever)

Just from picking through my Newegg order history, it's an AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+ (2.0ghz) on a Biostar TForce4U nForce 4 Ultra motherboard, with a Sapphire Radeon X1800XT 256meg. I forget how much memory it has, but it's at least 2 gigs...maybe 2.5 or 3. It used to be my main rig until last September, and I really only upgraded because I fell ass-backwards into several grand so I used some of it to build an uber-rig It'll do day-to-day computing like a champ, and it runs some older games like Half-Life 2 and WoW very well, and it'll do newer stuff with reasonable graphics settings. The only downside is that the graphics card was starting to show its age by the time I upgraded; I was getting artifacting in WoW and some other games, but not enough to make it unplayable.

Dunno if this is the type of computer you're looking for or not. Lemmie know if you're interested and I can get complete specs and talk business.

Argh, as you can probably tell, I won't be riding today after all. Managed to sleep through half the day and seeing how it's about 45 mins to an hour ride to anywhere fun, there's not much point of going out now I guess.

I've seen a few other 650's around here. There's a beat-up black '06 that parks on North Campus next to a new-style 250...it's STILL out there with no cover on There's also a blue 07 that parks near Hitchcock on campus when it's warm out; I think I've seen the guy on the road a few times too. I don't actually know any of them personally though.
