http://www.aprilwinchell.com/wp-content/cache/supercache/www.aprilwinchell.com/2009/02/05/barack-obama-is-tired-of-your-motherfucking-shit/index.html "...you’re about to hear the President of United States using language that would finish Cheney off once and for all." And just for pure "WTF?" factor: http://obamasavestheworld.ytmnd.com/ Aaaand punt. I didn't know if this should go in the Political forum or not; this isn't really political talk, just a funny link involving the President's book, and some spoken word excerpts from it

The new R1 looks like a surprised lemur

I poked around on the sites for some of the nearby tracks and a decent amount allow 2-piece suits for beginner and intermediate classes. I know Mid-Ohio is pretty accepting of them, at least they are according to their site. The main stipulation is that is hard-ish to meet with a 2-piece suit is that you have to have a full back protector, and not all leather jackets have a pocket for one.

Man this new tags system is bullshit. I was looking for some naughty shit to do tonight and this thread came up. Misleading tags

That's my point. I'm not even talking about performance numbers or anything; I just love how virtually everything on the bike helps contribute to both the function of it and also to the overall look of the bike. You can look at pretty much any part of it and see how it contributes in some way to the function of the machine. In my eyes, it all comes together to create an image of pure functionality that I personally find beautiful. There's art and then there's design, and while they can go hand-in-hand to create beauty, they can also stand alone and be beautiful by themselves.

I can't disagree with you more. I'm not bashing your tastes, but rather I'm just musing over the whole 'different stroke for different folks' thing. I personally hate gaudy modded show bikes. A certain degree of custom flare is great, but the extremely overdone stuff like that bike and 99% of the stuff you see on Superbikes! really rubs me the wrong way. I prefer much more low-key cosmetic mods; check out this thread for pics of a bike that I think is drop-dead gorgeous. I love when people cosmetically mod their bikes in such a way that compliments the desing and helps the bike really come together well. That's an example more towards the far end of the 'low key' spectreum that I like though; I'm not totally against custom stuff...just don't care for the really loud "LOOKATME" stuff. But if an all-chrome bike appeals to you, more power to ya

http://www.tmz.com/2009/02/19/rihanna-photo-face-beating/ Goddamn, I didn't realize he really BEAT her. I thought he just smacked her once or something. Fuck that guy though; he didn't just cross the line, he pole-vaulted over and then fired up a jetpack and kept on sailing past before landing :|

That's what she said. *edit* And now to actually add to the thread like a good board member: I havn't been "in" the bike world long enough to really have a good grasp of everything that's out there, so I can't really make a judgment on what I think is the best looking bike ~ever~, but there are some that have really caught my eye. I'm nearly 100% sure nobody will agree with me, but I think the Buell 1125r is a very good looking bike. There's just something about it... I've never really been a fan of Buell. I like them in theory; I love 'outside of the box' ideas, and god knows Buell is all about that, but their designs have never done anything for me once the ideas all come together. The 1125r though has really got me enchanted. I'm not saying it's perfect; I actually hate the way the front cowling doesn't 'connect' to the side scoops...it just sort of floats there. I can get over that though. It's just something about 'form out of function' that really get me going and this bike is, in my opinion, the epitome of that idea.

I think I do. This season I'm going to review my coverages and weigh my options. I'm sick of paying arm and a leg for this crap. Insurance is such a headache

We're not entirely sure, but we think ours is a Carolina Dog, aka an American Dingo. http://www.carolinadogs.com/ http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/caralinadog.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrNFmlFTC20 Yours looks like it might be one too; the only main difference I see is that yours lacks the white chest that I see on many of these dogs but according to those web sites, that's not entirely uncommon. Beautiful dog, btw If I had more pics of ours I would post them, but I don't have a digital camera of my own so my pics are limited. It's hard to tell with this breed; there is a decent amount of variation in appearances. When she was a puppy we thought she was a Shiba Inu, but we stumbled across Carolina Dog/American Dingo information one day and this seems like a much better fit. Me and my mom have been tossing around the idea of loading her up and taking a road trip/vacation down to see a Carolina Dog breeder and determine if ours really is one. Regardless of what she is, she's easily the coolest dog I've ever met

I hate how wildly insurance rates fluctuate between people and companies. For me, Progressive is the cheapest; Geico wants an extra 400-500$/year from me over Progressive
-
For those who wanted to know more; I asked him earlier today and I guess the place is called Blue Danube or something...it's on high north of lane before the giant eagle I believe. I dunno details about the burger deal though, gotta dig for that info later...but for now it's nap time
-
You can call your insurance company and change coverages whenever you want typically. As soon as my bike hits the garage for the winter, I call Progressive and drop all coverage except for comprehensive, just in case the garage is robbed or explodes or something. By doing that, I go from paying ~90/month to 20/month, and I technically still have a policy so my rates keep going down each year the policy is renewed. I save a decent amount of money this way; it's probably what the underwriter meant.
-
I'm going to come to your house and poop on you for paying that little for a freakin' ZX-14
-
Ohhhh noooo, 70 dollars! It must really suck to be a 21 year old who pays well over 90 a month for a bike that's not even a supersport eh? Quit yer bitchin' ya old 100$/year-insurance-paying fogies

Where's that? A quick google came up with one in Mason, OH, but that's just outside of Cincinnati.
-
Honestly I forget, but I think he said the deal was on their Monday or Tuesday nights later at night, like after 10 or 11. I'm fairly sure he said high street; could have been another street but I do remember getting so worked up because it's so damn close by. I'll ask tomorrow and post details if possible.
-
No hurry, it'll be a while before I actually make any move on it. A...while I'm mostly just curious for future reference
-
So I mentioned the buck-a-burger to my buddy/roommate just now and he goes "oh yeah there's a place right down high street that does that too", and I just about killed him. We've known each other for 3 years, and you NEVER THOUGHT TO TELL ME I CAN GET BURGERS FOR A DOLLAR SOMEWHERE?! I tell ya...ya think ya know people.... The up-side is that I don't have to ride to Cinci to get a killer burger deal though Though I may still get bored and check it out this summer...rode through Cincinnati on my way to Kentucky for Halloween '07 and was intrigued by the bit of the city I saw.
-
Honestly it's perfectly fine if you'd prefer not to do it. I've never done a dyno day and don't know how things are typically run, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. I realize you are doing us all a nice favor by hosting this event, and I'm not about to demand special privilege on top of everything else we're all getting

So if I walk in and go "I'm from ohio-riders.net. I wanna buy a Buell.", do I get treated a bit nicer than the rest of the rabble? Cuz I kinda wanna buy a Buell
