I also need to be back around 5. I'll need to leave earlier. The route sounds like fun. Stay safe.
-
I may be taking Wed off this week. If so a ride sounds good to me.
-
Sno-Seal FTW.
-
I've run that from 78 to Zanesville. Nice stretch of road.
-
I'm riding. Just wear an wxtra layer or three

Karma. What goes around comes around. For Hinds that is. Sorry our member has to deal with the impacts

Looks like you had a great trip. I love that part of the coountry for riding. Nothing in Ohio compares.

400 miles later.... 536 is to die for. Road layout is awesome. First Ohio road I wanted to ride over and over again. Road surface is primo.
537 is the opposite. Road layout is great, but the road surface is horrid. Not worth riding.
29 was fun as always. 78 from Calwell to Glouster was a blast.

I took the day off work. Going to get to Woodsfield and hit 537, 536 and then run 78 down to Glouster. I'm anxious to hit these roads for the first time.

The wife and I will be in the area today. We will be leaving our house at 9ish and taking 664 down from Thornville. Keep an eye out for us 2 up on the silver ST1300.

555
in Daily Ride
I had the chance to do 555 on my new ride this weekend. It is a very different experience on an ST1300 than a 750 Shadow Spirit
Careful of the gravel in some of the curves!

Riding puts you in one moment of time each second your on the bike.

I had a great time when I was in the area in July. I hit the Dragon after 5pm and before 9am. I had no issues. I was running the Cherehola while all the others were busy on the Dragon. Also go during the week!

Dave - Hellbender is also known as the River Road. It is Rt 28. From the Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort you can take Rt 129 to Robbinsville or if you look to the left you will see RT 28. It is well worth the time. It will take you around 40 minutes or so to get back to the Resort if you run it.
Check out www.tailofthedragon.com for area maps.

I'm back. What a trip! I did the Dragon several times, Hellbender once and the Cherahola once. I also ran the Blueridge Parkway from Boone, NC to Lexington, VA.
To everyone going in August. The Dragon is simply amazing. A word or two of caution. I saw one rider down on Wednesday night when I ran it and another rider was killed on Hellbender on Thursday not 5 minutes after I went down it. These are serious roads that demand full attention.
All in all a trip well worth doing. I plan on returning next year for more fun.

My trip was delayed a couple of weeks. I head out today and it looks like a wet one. I'm anxious to see the area tomorrow and enjoy the Blue Ridge on Friday.
Heck with all my gear I almost fit on the bike

"Dont forget the Hellbender. Also a great road"
Thanks Sam. It's on the list !

I'm headed down July 8th It will be my first time in the area. I'm doing the Dragon several times. Cherahola and then running to Boone, NC to take the Blueridge Parkway to Roanoke, Then back home to C-Bus

My first time riding this wonderful route. Rains did not have much impact on the condition of the road. I was detoured at Amesville on 550 due to high water on the road and it was very high. Be careful all those riding tomorrow.
-
Thanks everyone. Lots of good info here.

I'm trying to find AMSOIL here in central Ohio. Anyone know who carries it?
Thanks,

A truck pulled out in front of him
Keep in mind we are invisable out there. Prayers out to the fallen rider.

My thoughts exactly. He had no chance on this one, BUT you can't assume that if you wreck there would have been no saving you, helmet is a must no matter what! (at least for me and my wife, we won't ride without them)
+1 ATGATT

Not going to hijack this thread. I'm starting another one for those who can leave earlier on a different route.
