Time for a mileage service on the ST. I used Ohio Motorcycle regularly and loved them. Now that they are ka-put, who do you all recommend in the central Ohio area. Hinderer ias out due to previous poor experience. Thanks in advance. Rick

Well crap. I used them for service on my ST1300. Always happy with their work. Now to find another shop who does good work...

I have a similar trip planned for next year. Glad to see you enjoyed it.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan this weekend and having him do a tire change for me. Best in the business imo.

I went 2 years ago. Very cool event and the burger was awesome!

I'm a little late to this thread, but avoid them at all costs.

I love my ST 1300. Great for distance comfort, but handles twisties quite nicely.

Took my annual Blue Ridge Parkway and Tail of the Dragon trip this past weekend. I started by going across W.Va on 77 with plans to drop into Boone, NC via 19 to 421. However as the following picture will show my plan was...altered. Moral of the story if something does not feel right, it's prolly NOT! I stopped to check the weird feeling. The tires had approx. 50% life when I left so not sure what happened. I got a replacement and hauled it to Boone. Needless to say I had to slab it. The next day found me on the BRP headed South. This picture was taken near the viaduct which you can see on the left of it if you look close. Made it to Townsend, TN that night via the Smokies. I love that ride. Monday was all about the Dragon and Six Gap. Obligatory glamor shot. I highly recommend the Six Gap loop. http://www.sixgap.com/ This is an interesting landmark. Please read the sign first. And the rocks next. Yes I added to the pile. All in all a good trip even with the tire event. Looking forward to next year's trip already.

ATGATT = Survival to me. If you've ever been down, you will appreciate the gear.

Story gets better. Progressive was out there today to look at the part. Turns out I don't owe Hinderer. The amount Progressive was paying is over the estimate. I could have had the bike last Friday. They are truely dumb asses!

Avoid these guys. New service manager and new parts manager know next to nothing. I took my bike there to be repaired from the whole running over a bear deal. This was almost a month ago. They over estimated the time to repair which caused issues with the insurance company who was being more than fair. (Progressive). I call this week to see what's up after getting the insurance issue settled last week. Yes sir your bike is ready. I was going to pick it up tonight. Lo and behold I get a call "um there's a problem we screwed up the parts and were reviewing this and there's a part that was included in the repair we didn't charge the insurance for. Ups the estimate by $250." They made the mistake and admitted it and won't release the bike until Progressive can get there to verify they will pay for the part. It will now be next Wed before I can get the bike. I feel they should service the customer and release the bike today as it is their oversight. I told them I'm taking future business elsewhere if they won't release the bike today. Service manager says do what you have to do. So I am.

Wow talk about negativity on the board. Not many well wishes and being called a liar. Nice. I didn't follow up post as I was on pain meds and sleeping mostly or at work. Pics for those that seem to doubt and I've been on the board for around 4 years. I just don't post a bunch. Swingset we've ridden together about 2 years ago. FYI I dragged the bear to the current resting position. Head was where the blood is and feet were coming back towards the camera. Anyone need more proof drive to Front Royal ask the damn rangers yourself. Yes it was reported and a statement was taken.
-
Let me tell you a tale. I was on Skyline Drive on the bike coming out of Front Royal on Saturday morning. I was minding my own business when this black blur came out of the weeds right in front of me. After I picked my self up off the ground it came to me...I just hit a bear and I'm still alive! The bear was a fatality. I got the bike up right with the help of a couple of bicyclists who came on scene. Hit the starter and she fired up. I finished my ride to Peaks of Otter Saturday night and back home this morning. Bike is scuffed and needs some repair. I highly recommend BygDawg rear tip over bars. No damage was done to the panniers. Minor damage to front plastics. Broken right mirror and housing. I'm going to have the shop give the front end a through going over. Me... I'm scuffed with some wrapping on an elbow and knee. I also have a minor separation of the right shoulder. I figure I got off easy considering. Moral of the story always wear full gear when motorcycling and look both ways before you cross the street. Time for my pain meds

I did it last year. The Skyline is very scenic and a wonderful road for a new rider. If your riding over, Rt 50 through W. Va is very twisty with lots of elevation changes. I second previous concerns on gas when riding a sportbike there.
