  1. My first time riding this wonderful route. Rains did not have much impact on the condition of the road. I was detoured at Amesville on 550 due to high water on the road and it was very high. Be careful all those riding tomorrow.
  2. Thanks everyone. Lots of good info here.
  3. I'm trying to find AMSOIL here in central Ohio. Anyone know who carries it? Thanks, LoneRanger
  4. http://www.10tv.com/live/content/local/stories/2008/08/07/motorcycle_crash.html?type=rss&cat=&sid=102 A truck pulled out in front of him Keep in mind we are invisable out there. Prayers out to the fallen rider.
  5. Honda Northwest or Carl Zipf locksmith.
  6. I did the mixture adjustment last night. Was really easy took about 45 minutes. If I have to do it again I would bet on 30 minutes tops. Bike is running better. I still get some decel popping, but not anything like I was. I'll see how it goes over the next couple of days and pull the plugs this weekend to see if I'm too lean or too rich and adjust accordingly. Crankcase seemed cooler this morning as well. Thanks for the ideas!
  7. I visited Hine's twice when I was in the market for a bike. Each tim eI came in strolled around the used bikes and new bikes. Looked at prices and even sat on a bike each time. Sales people just sat at their desk looking at me. They acted like they had no reason to get up. Each time they were not with any other customer. Obviously they lost my business. Not the way I like to see a shop run.
  8. I'm going to play with the carbs tonight to richen the mixture. (Primarly due to decel popping). I'll give an update tomorrow.
  9. You use a holesaw to remove the resonators at the end of your pipes.
  10. Well I am noticing what I consider hoigher temps than before. The bike wa sparked in my garage after I got home from work and the case was still warm 3 hours later. It was very hot when I arrived at work this morning. You wouldn't get burned, but seemed hotter than I remember.
  11. I commute to work approx. 5 miles one way. I recently did the holesaw mod and now my crankcase seems to be very very hot in that short period of time. My top speed as it is not highway is 45 - 50 on the way in with the majority of the commute 40 or less. Oil levels are fine and 600 mile service was just performed last week. Any ideas on what may be causing this? The bike is an 06 Shadow Spirit 750. Thanks in advance.
  12. I paid $4,600 for an 06 Shadow Spirit with 749 miles if that helps.
  13. I visited that shop when I was in the market for my ride. I was unimpressed. I just got a bad vibe from the place. I was looking at a 2006 Honda Shadow 750 and the guy kept trying to put me in a real junker 2005 Suzuki Maurader that was beat to hell and back. I ended up buying a 2006 Honda Shadow from J&J Cycles in Massillon. Saved about $1,000 and it had 749 miles on it. I would give them a call to see what they have in inventory. It was worth the drive for me.
  14. Any red ones left? If so I would love to have one. Thanks.
  15. Thank you all for your input. I ended up getting a great deal on a 2006 Shadow which has a chain drive. Nice to be back riding again!
