Gixxus Christ!
Pipes on my shadow were too loud. I live in a neighborhood and my neighbors have kids. I come home from work between 12:30 and 2:30 am. I don't want to be the dick with the open pipe cruiser. Got a set of factory muffs off eBay for $69. The only thing the dick didn't photograph was how lbts the pipes are where they clamp over the head pipes. Bent them in with pliers and got the cans on but have leaks. Looking at permatex exhaust sealant, anyone have experience?
bandit12
Actually, back in the 80's I worked in a parts and paint store and we kept that in stock for one guy who had a muffler shop, he swore by it.We sold Walker brand exhaust and when our home store started sending us their brand sealant to sell that guy bought one tube and told us to get him Permatex. Streetfighterkz
According to the parts diagram on MotoSport.com there should be gaskets that slip over the head pipe and then inside the muffler. It sounds like you're missing those gaskets.Later, Doug
Gixxus Christ!
Oh, well I must live without those gaskets now. Bought a tube of permatex and shmaltzed the shit out of it. Going to let it cure while I'm at work and fire it up when I get home and see if it still leaks.
