Bummer. how far is too far? it's only during the school year, so 3 months of no commute. I wouldn't write it off so quickly if it's actually a job you'd want to keep. We work on a different system than the teachers. We work all year, our Xmas and Easter breaks are not as long as theirs. Not complaining, its an awesome gig. Just clarifying. We changed that here, we do our busy stuff mid-winter. We found doing all that stuff in the summer just created more havoc when they came back.
