Pokey
I would agree, except there is no wind or elements protection.

This may fit your needs. Search the net lots of info and vids. I saw that, Jerry. I wish I could pop my wishes into a finder and up would come a listof bikes fitting those wishes. As Brian stated, I am wishing for wind protection. That'sone reason I was so disappointed when the Fazer 8 was only offered in the US as anFZ8. Thanks for keeping me in mind. Have a safe trip. Wish I was going. .

JackFlash
Get a damn VFR and love happily ever after The VFR leans me a little more forward than I find comfortable.I am anxious to see the new VFR 800. John Hinderer Hondakeeps promising "next month" they will have one. Which"next month"? They've been promising the last three months. . Ryan_c_F
FZ1 with a ZG touring windshield. You're practically vertical on mine.
JackFlash
FZ1 with a ZG touring windshield. You're practically vertical on mine. An FZ1 has crossed my mind. I don't knowif I've heard anything bad about them or not. .
C-bus
http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/4508892911.htmlTruly.... This is what you're looking for. The FZ6 is fast, manageable, comfortable, and protected. I don't understand why Yamaha keeps wanting to create standards that are either castrated or uncontrollable. I wish I had mine still.Btw... Above is not referring to the FZ1. That's a fine machine.
DAC
Wow. An '07 FZ6 with 240 miles? That's it, Jack. As for the VFR if the previous generation had you leaned over too far, then the new one will too. Also, go to cycle-ergo.com if you want to check out the riding position of the bikes and compare. Great site and I think someone may have mentioned it earlier.

JackFlash
Also is Jack going to be the new Ohio Bob or whateverthat dudes name was searching for the perfect bike thatdidn't exist? Lol Hey now! I resemble that remark. I'm picky, and money is an issue. Give me a smallerversion of an FJR, or a Connie 14, in the 800cc rangethat is low enough for me to back up while sitting on it. I'm still new to bikes, and what can be done to them tomake them comfortable for the kind of riding a personwishes to do. I've talked to the guys at parts counterswho are more than eager to order the parts I want, butI don't know enough to know the parts I want, or shouldget. I don't have money to experiment if something isnot the item I was hoping it would be. No hurry. Searching is part of the adventure. I valueall opinions offered, including yours, even if it seemsto be offered in a tone that reads a little sharp on myside of the computer screen. I know, I know, Brian. Think VFR and all my problemswill be solved. .
Pokey
Yup.....a bike that actually fits you while making minimal mods to do so, is always a good idea. IMHO........the majority of the sport touring machines are totally overkill for you, they are not for the faint of heart and they are BIG. Pretty sure I know what bikes would tickle you to death, but your lust and longing for what is probably not best or the most logical for you, is getting the best of you for now. Heck I know you like your bike more than not, so why not look at a Bandit 1250..........now THAT might very well tickle your fancy. http://www.cycletrader.com/New-or-Used-Suzuki-Bandit-1250-Motorcycles-in-Ohio/search-results?make=Suzuki|2320128&model=Bandit+1250&state=Ohio|OH&vrsn=hybrid Edited June 8, 2014 by Pokey
