baptizo
I'm looking for a S&W M&P9 in the Performance Center Ported version, sku # 10098 in 9mm with the 5" barrel. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_834559_-1_757900_757896_757751_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y I'm in the Akron/Canton area, anyone seen one locally or know of one for sale? Figured I'd try here first before searching the local gun shops. Thanks, D.

baptizo
Found one locally and placed an order....might have it by Wednesday. Finding a quality holster, however, is proving to be like finding hen's teeth.

Pokey
This will be my first one and first new pistol in about 7 years. Please report back on what you think, and installing an Apex trigger makes the M&P's arguably the best polymer pistols out there IMHO. baptizo
Will do. Is an Apex better than the Pro C.O.R.E. trigger from the factory?
blue03636
Will do. Is an Apex better than the Pro C.O.R.E. trigger from the factory? I doubt it. I say go shoot it and see how it is. The new S&W triggers are really good compared to the pre 2014 ones.
Cdubyah
I have a pro series and the trigger is just fine for me. With that said I have never shot with an apex trigger on an M&P.

Yeah that is a good point, I hear the improvements have been well received.
Gump
Are you shooting competition with this gun or simply wanted it?
baptizo
Are you shooting competition with this gun or simply wanted it? I simply wanted it (50th birthday present to myself) vs. a S&W compact.
baptizo
I might look into competition shooting but it really isn't something I have a strong interest in pursuing. Edited September 29, 2015 by baptizo
Gump
I might look into competition shooting but it really isn't something I have a strong interest in pursuing. You should try IDPA. It's fun and competitive. All you need is a holster, cover garment (something that covers the gun when your arms are straight out to your side like a long flannel, jacket, whatever), mag holder, 3 mags (2 is usually enough), ammo, and $15. You don't have to get an IDPA membership. Lots of shooting from different positions. I found shooting from cover more difficult to grasp then shooting while walking and running. Two positions of which people seldom do when engaged in target practice. Moving targets, steel targets, shooting thru cars doors. Every stage is different and every Host club is setup different. Will make you a better shooter for sure. There's matches at least once a month for a short drive. http://www.idpa.com/compete/competitionsearch
