Odd Question

I have a large electric fan in a very dust ridden environment, garage with my dogs.  http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/ventamatic-24-in-tilt-floor-fan-yellow-1126024?cm_mmc=feed-_-GoogleShopping-_-Ventamatic-_-1126024&gclid=CMSJ2__hjswCFYM2aQodIjMIlA

The bearings get hot and dirty, and every 3-5 days, I have to get the compressor out and clean them off and add more oil(liquid bearings).

I've tried the 3-in-1 electric motor oil, and it only lasted 2-3 days before locking up.

Any ideas that I could possibly do to NOT have to take it apart this frequently?

Chinese fan and probably meant to run without oil on the bearings. oiling the bearings attracts dirt which will gum up the bearings causing power loss and lock up.

replace the bearing or get a new fan and blow it out with air once in a while but do not oil it.

Our local True Value hardware store carries this stuff and it's great for your problem. I worked at a factory that had a heat and carpet fuzz problem on the fans and this stuff worked great there also. I have a friend in HVAC that also swears by the stuff.
