Internally, I know the engines had little in common, but same number of cyclinders, same basic configuration, air-cooled. Trelis frame versus gas-carrying twin-spar(?), but both use different styles than the Japanese bikes. Both brands handled better than they accelerated as well (on the air-cooled models at least) i'm not that surprised you liked it. I would rock An XB9 if they weren't so expensive... I'd say that little Buell had giant character. I enjoyed riding it. Idk, I thought the XB had more cornering capability. The belt drive was just fantastic unless you wanting to change gearing. There's a practical HP limit, belts are more expensive to develop, and you can't easily change the gearing. ...but they are basically maintenance free, and a zero slack drive is a wonderful thing.
