Whoah ! ! A few of those fish I have never seen before.

It seems like any unusual or remarkable photographs connected with oceanic phenomena are being attributed to the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 2004, and this collection of pictures is more of the same.

Although they are genuine images of some rather strange deep-sea creatures, these photographs have nothing to do with the Indian Ocean tsunami. They date from mid-2003 and were taken as part of the NORFANZ voyage, a joint Australian-New Zealand research expedition conducted in May-June 2003 to explore deep sea habitats and biodiversity in the Tasman Sea. These photographs can be viewed on Australia's National Oceans Office web site."

a couple of them are new to me as well...especially the one with the paddle-like nose under the pic of the guy holding the creepy looking fish(which i cant remember what it is).

all those crazy creatures, and the ocean is pretty much 'unexplored'..kinda makes you wonder what else is down there.

I was watching a thing on the discovery channel and the dude said "the cost of one shuttle launch would fincance a team of scientist making two dives a day in a submarine for 92 years". Maybe we should find out what is living on this plante with us.

Those fish are kinda freaky looking but amazing none the less. I was on the OLN channel and one of the top 10 thrill seeking sports was Underwater Caving, looked pretty sweet. Just think of exploring caves under the sea and seeing what all the features that you've never seen before.
