<font color ="midnightblue"> After 3 1/2 years putzing around on a P3 1.0ghz machine, I have finally upgraded myself to the upper eschelon of elite gaming and computer usage. Behold, meager earthlings, the Dell Dimension Desktop, XPS, "Ultimate Gaming Machine"! *Muahahaha!*

(I've never had a computer this nice, so excuse me if I brag a little. :D )

Moving to college, I needed a new comp- it was a must. So, with some extra cash I had lying around I picked this one up at a discounted price through the university.

It's a beautiful thing. If I knew more about computers, certainly I would have built it myself, and gotten a much better deal. But, I don't, so I think this'll do me through 4 years. Opinions? Your platforms?

Last i heard, the X800XT and the 6800Ultra were in a dead heat.

<font color ="midnightblue"> PC Gamer rated the Radeon at 94, and the Nvidia at 90. A marginal difference, but not one I'm willing to take :D

And yes, Doom 3 has been maxed out and pwn3d by this computer. Decent game graphics wise, but storyline is a little too linear.

Comp cost $2100 with tax and discount ($2000 minus tax). If I had just gone through Dell, it would have been around 3k. My friend was going to build me a comp, but when I gave him the specs, he said I might as well just buy one because it would be too expensive. I think he just didn't want to spend the time to get the parts...

Either way, I'm happy.

Oh ya and Joel- I rigged a T4 up to it, got it hooked up in back; seems to do the trick. ;)

Honestly though, the first time I started the computer up, my friend was sitting here with me and we both started laughing; the fucking thing revved up! I swear to God it revved the CPU three or four times before starting and it sounded just like a turbo spooling up! Holy shit I love this thing
