BIGGU
well autocross was sunday and i raced of course. track setup was so kick ass. got well up to about 60-70 mph track and was fast as can be. whole course was around a half mile and we had times in atleast 47's so its really not all that bad. i had a major blast, but i got mad because they wouldnt let me drift i told them i would throw them a drift demo, every other person said they really wanted to see what drifting is about but the safty dude said no. heres pictures http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/Group.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/8-10.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/8-9.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/8-8.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/8-7.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/8-6.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/8-5.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/Autocross/8-4.jpg

Skinner
looks like fun. why is your hood sticking up a bit by the windshield?
BIGGU
lol yea pretty much what jenkins said. its a hood riser but its basicly a poor mans cowl induction hood. mustang_nut next event will be at the same place same time, Ohio historical society in the parking lot in the back. only thing that would suck about having a non miata they stick you in a class with all non miatas but its not to bad
martindc1
The next SCCA event is on the 31st but as said before they really don't like when people drift.
Devils Advocate
FIX YOUR HOOD YOU HAVE AN N/A MIATA.... LAST TIME I CHECKED, THOSE DID NOT HAVE HEAT PROBLEMS. It's like a Hoodscoop for cars that don't need it, except it's GAYY DEE EM Y0o. Cool pics otherwise, though. Are those stock wheels? They look great on that car. Plus any car that you run hard is going to have heat problems. Thanks for playing though.

I wouldn't think so... running it balls out for 45 seconds, shutting it off, (with no coolant circulation) leaving it parked in 90 degree weather with no airflow for a few minutes, getting back in and doing it again probably results in a fair amount of heat soak... stock or not. thorne
So a Grand Prix + Helment (SCCA Approved) could come and run. Sounds like fun im might take the wifes car out since the stang is far from ready.
Kevin R.
I have a stock car and i can't even run the air conditioning without overheating on 90+ temp days like today. Mustangs = teh lose.

Just add some air to the tires, make sure it doesn't spew oil, and make sure all the shit is cleaned out and you are good to go. Take your floormats, spare tire, and jack out at the event. When I ran on street tires I would over fill them to like 45 psi on the way to the event and then bleed them down. I ended up running 43 in the front and 32 in the rear after much experimentation. On the subject of engine temp: I make sure my car is up to temp before my first run. I used to come in and pop my hood and let my engine run until the fan kicked off but now I just leave it running while I am on the grid. I just open my hood between runs. By just feeling my MAF with it seems like this is the best way to minimize the inevitable heat soak.
NOS50
I've argued with Jono about a cowl hood on my EFI car.He said it's stupid,I say it lets heat out so it's good.I just wish my Mustang handled so I could race with you, maybe next summer. Devils Advocate
His car puts out like 46 horsepower. If it's overheating, then that suuuuuuuuucks. Get a new car. Disclaimer for sissies and retards: I KNOW IT PUTS DOWN MORE THAN 46 HORSEPOWER, THAT'S A GROSS EXAGGERATION. Disclaimer for Straight and or Not Gay people: The actual figure is somewhere in the 70-80 HP range.
