r1crusher
No lyin' about thatI am not brand loyal though..whatever I feel is best at the time for me, is what I'm riding. Now that's another of those things you can say that can't be disputed my friend! I'll get you round if I catch you at QSL tonight for that one.
Moto-Brian
Here we go again.Stock ZX10 is 155. My ZX10 makes 165. And I'm still producing power when the limiter hits. My bike, if it were stock, would be more then 150 lbs lighter. Since it's not stock, I dropped about 20 lbs getting rid of the exhaust. What's your point? And please don't give me a comparison to your bike. Suzuki is on a two year cycle, just like Kaw and your bike was the first year of that cycle. That would be like me comparing the new ZX10 to your dyno #'s. You'd lose.Ok, a few things...1) The XMax is stating fastest accelerating motorcycle out. Compared to the 14s and Busas, it probably will. It will most likely get off the line quicker due to mass and placement of that mass. The 14s and Busas are hard to launch - stock... Didn't say fastest 1/4 mile production bike. You guys are probably safe.2) Who gives a shit? I've ridden stage 1- stage 3 VMaxs and well, let's just say they have power and are fun to ride. BUT... the world isn't straight and my mom drag races every time she gets a green light. That said, the pig, I mean VMax will not be sticking to ANY ZX10, 14, Busa or otherwise unlesss said sport bike rider is a complete tool... Flounder probably will have a tough time shaking one, but you get the idea...3) Guy I am quoting above... One, the 2007 and 2008 GSXR1000s are the same. Saying he's at the start of the two year curve means jack shit. The 2007 GSXR1000 is worlds ahead of the 2006 and 2007 ZX10. Power means didley squat if it can't handle the power... Overall, the GSXR is better. Straight line? I have no idea. Ask Satan and others who have more drag racing experience. I refer to overall stats. As far as the 2008 ZX10 vs the GSXR1000? Well, it's hard to say. I think most will say that the GSXR will still win even though slightly. I rode a CBR1000 (08) a week ago and all I can say is that Suzuki better get it right next year... ZX10 is kinda cool, but I won't get a good feel for that bike until middle of June when I get some track time with it...Horsepower to the ground is easily fair to compare as the 2006/07 ZX10 is the same and the fact that Suzuki put out a new 1000 before Kaw makes no difference. His is a 2007 and yours is the same as a 2007 ZX10. They are fair to compare. Sure the 2008 ZX10 makes more power, but wait until next year when Suzuki invails their 09... Even if it still doesn't have more ponies, worsepower is simply a number.Point is it doesn't matter. None of it. Your bike makes 165 rear wheel. That's cool. I run down ZX10s and other liter bikes on my measly 140 to the ground 750. What's that mean? I'm God? Do I get a cool prize or anything. Seen Drew do it when his 600 only made 109 to the ground. He's EXTRA special then, I guess...Now, put Agnes out there on his liter bike and I get a little issue facing me. But, we're not talking about Jeff are we? Let's not even talk about someone like Jensen, etc...
r1crusher
Easy there Liz....I'm pretty sure he was pull the my chain a bit. Like we all seem to do around here. Your points a mostly valid I might add.Oh, and what do I have to do to hang out with you and ride every new bike that's made!?!?

It's just too easy for most to say they got bigger nuts than someone else does... When they are all literally so damn close, you are pretty much picking colors...As far as the new bikes, I get to be around a LOT of shops. I have a ton of friends and I am in the industry so I get to take spins on some cool bikes.I got to flog the new KTM Super Duke 990 at Mid-Ohio. What a fun bike for sure...It's just a little perk I guess I get...
InyaAzz
You guys kill me. This forum is full of some of the worst penis envy having peeps I've ever seen. First of all, the response was directed to R1. he was ribbing me, I ribbved him back. We weren't getting into an in depth technical analysis of rider ability. Additionally, the cycle DOES matter. This liter bike race is one big game. If Kaw comes out with a bike doing 165 for two years, you better believe Suzuki is gonna try and trump that on their next cycle. To say it doesn't matter is just plain ignorant. Do i like it? No. is it the truth? Well, the mags/rags are all on it...and the manufacturers are feeding the frenzy. If it didn't matter, they wouldn't advertise such things as RWHP. Of COURSE RWHP doesn't make a bike. Just like having god awful turn signals like the 08 ZX10 makes it a BAD bike. It might make it ugly..but it doesn't mean it's not a good track or street bike. Would I buy it? Hell no. But someone else might and will. My response to R1 was based on what he perceived he saw on a dyno. Can you measure rider ability on a dyno? last time I checked, um no. So when you are talking about taking this and that to the track...that means absolutely nothing as it pertains to my post. I used HP as a basis for my post..assuming all other factors are the same (yes, i know torgue plays a factor as well). This is what R1 and myself have to base our 'discussion' on. It wasn't about Kaw this or Suzuki that or Honda this.Man, I start to pay more attention to this forum and the more I do, the more I shake my head. InyaAzz
Easy there big fella....you'd win due to the power/weight ratio alone. And I didn't say anything about my bike in the comparison. That would be silly because I know I'd win. And show me a dyno sheet of a new ZX10 putting down over 174.....:roll:Oh..your bike is stock? Hmm...didn't look stock in Columbus. max power
You guys kill me. This forum is full of some of the worst penis envy having peeps I've ever seen. YADA YADA YADAMan, I start to pay more attention to this forum and the more I do, the more I shake my head. This thread is about the new Vmax. Some may not like it. I do. I am their target demo. I am 38 and have spent my time crouched over a race replica and I enjoyed it. But they hurt to ride for more than a mile now, and riding a rep. on the streets of columbus SUCKS. Have I become a cruiser guy? No. I still like to go fast, but now I do it comfortably at the expense of some handling. The Vmax isnt the fastest bike out there, its the fastest CRUISER out there. That being said, my next ride is either a B-king, Monster or speed triple w/ handle bars.Nekkid Bikes FTW.
NinjaNick
I am 30 and like what I like Max. Vehicles are built for different purposes and the consumers personal taste. Live life and enjoy what you enjoy! Some people like basketball, I hate basketball, but I don't care, they can enjoy to do whatever they want to do. Live and have fun! MadMax33
I don't really like the look of the V-Max but I would say that for a cruiser, it would go like Hell in a straight line, I imagine. When I get another cruiser, it will either be a Yamaha Star Raider or a Suzuki M09R, both very nice cruisers. Once I get tired of the 1000RR that is... fusion
My first thoughts of this bike and the BKing when I first saw it were that these were built specifically for guys with large egos and small penises.Second thought was if the intakes on the VMax played music. They look like horns or something on some kind of friggin' Wonka mobile to me.

NinjaNick
I'll never give up sportbikes. Only way I'd have a cruiser is as a 2nd bike. Never to replace a sport.
InyaAzz
+1 on the comfort, but I like my sport bike too much to give it up. I could definitely see me in a 'muscle' crusier (I just coined a new phrase) as a second bike or a bike for long hauls. Riding all day non stop in a sport bike is definitely *not* comfortable. Dweezel
Anyone think this is gonna start a big upswing in the M109R? or you think Suzi will leave it with the B-king to be their star cruizer? IMHO I like the M109R allot better than the B-King
fusion
I like some of the Boulevards. I think the M109R2 is pretty damn sexy. They made it a bit more sleek with the R2.

IMHO I like the M109R allot better than the B-KingWell, the King isn't a cruiser... It's more of a naked bike than anything. An ugly naked bike, but you get the idea. The M109 isn't a racer styled cruiser or a muscle cruiser. I know they kinda target that group as the VMax has been a goner for some time. VMax is still cruiser king as far as power and they need to make sure it stands on top. Nobody has a bike that fits in the cruiser class that really can stand toe to toe with the VMax...
