Wanted: ROOMATE to live in HOUSE on east side (WITH PICS!)

Why live in some lame apartment with neighbors walking across the ceiling/pounding on the walls all hours of the night? While paying a small fortune to do so, and still paying utilities!! I'll never live in an apartment, and neither should you.

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom HOUSE in Reynoldsburg. Fairly quiet, crime-free neighborhood (try saying that about most apartments, even EXPENSIVE ones). All utilites paid for; gas, water, electric, sewage, etc.

FULL cable options. I work for WOW, so I get almost everything free. 4Mbps internet connection, DVR, all digital, HD, and premium channels. No phone (I have no desire for a house phone), but if you want one, you can get it thru me for $20/month w/ all features and unlimited local and long distance in the US (can't beat that). And it would be all yours.

Fully furnished house. Home theater, cable in all rooms, everything you would need to live except basic bedroom items (bed, dresser, etc.).

The good/bad:

- I have a dog, so if you don't like dogs, this may not be the place for you. Now he is a very sweet, gentle old lab, doesn't get into things, doesn't jump or get on furniture, doesn't chew, very rarely barks (he's more of a doorbell than anything else). He pretty much just leaves you alone. Ask anyone on this board who has been to my house; Dexter is a very awesome dog.

- The garage space is NOT available. There are storage units within 2 minutes from here you could rent out if you NEED garage space, but mine is full. That said, there is plenty of on-street parking and driveway parking. I live in a culdasac, so traffic is at a minimum = cars are safe on the street.

- You gotta be a decent roomate. 3am parties in the middle of the week....ummm, no. You and your guests gotta respect my stuff, as me and my guests will do the same. No douche bags, or people who will lecture me for going out on a Saturday night and having a good time. Gotta be easy going. You don't have to be a neat freak, but no total slobs either.

- 100% MUST pay your rent on time without me asking.....I'm not putting up with that again. Rent is due on the 1st of each month. I'm pretty laid back, and don't like having to beg someone to pay their freaking rent.

That's it. I'm really pretty easy to get along with/live with. I have references of past roomates if you want.

Cost: $350/month. That includes EVERYTHING mentioned, no other costs. I've looked around, that is a VERY competitive price for anywhere non-ghetto.

I'll say that Joe's house is pretty nice. The only other downfall he didn't mention is that there is no stove tongue.gif

Dexter (the dog) is a total cutie. Very gentle, pretty laid back, and good with everyone I've ever seen him with!

The price Joe is asking is very justified IMO.

Good luck in the roomie search Joe!!!

There's a stove, but no oven. :( Just a two burner, portable counter top stove; I use it all the time.

The reason I don't have one is there is no 220V electric for one, only gas. You can't find a used gas stove, and new ones are expensive. Electric you can find used (or cheap new ones), but I'd have to run a 220 line/outlet (easy), and wire in an ad-on box for my circuit breaker (not so cheap/easy).

I don't really have any good/current pics of the house. I guess I can break out the camera in the next day or two and snap some pics.

PM me with any info on yourself, and when you are available to see the house. I haven't seen you post much here, so I'd like to know a little more about you (I've never lived with people I wasn't previously friends with, so this is a new "adventure" for me).

Pics Pics Pics. But let me explain the layout of the house. The front half is basically like a ranch. Garage is on ground level, as is the kitchen and front room. The back half of the house is like a split level. Interesting layout you don't come across often.

More:

Empty bedroom (it's really hard to photograph that room):

Outside of house. Note that the stupid bushes at the front of the house and around the light pole have been removed long ago; all of my outside pics are outdated:

Dexter, the 14.5 year old 110lb black lab, w/ a little German Shepard in him. The flowery tree is actually in my yard; only looks like that 1 week out of the year; the rest of the time it looks like a normal tree:

Ummm....errr....hell if I know. It's not real big.

But you definately don't have to cram all of your stuff in there. The other bedroom is my "part-time" roomate's room. Basically, he goes to school full time and works full time, and lives up in Belfontaine during the week. He is only here on the weekends, and even then is gone a lot (when he is here, it's he's usually just passed out on the couch). His room has nothing but a bed and a few boxed up car parts in it for his SS project (which is why there isn't a garage space available). So the new roomate is more than welcome to have full-access to that closet in there too (the old roomate did that; he had a LOT of stuff).

Stuff can also be stored in there, in the crawl space (full door access, lighted, clean gravel w/ a plastic covering, and dry), or LIMITED stuff in the garage.

As for the garage, I'm not anal about it or anything. If the new roomate needs to use it for a couple of days on a project, that's cool. And 100% full access for any kind of work out in the driveway; we did the CRX motor swap in the driveway (which was honestly preferable during the nice summer weather, as the garage option was available).

If you didn't notice from the pics, the house also has 2 skylights. The computer room also has room for extra furniture, and if the new roomate has a PC desk, PLEASE bring it. The photocopier is non-functioning, and something I can/want to get rid of, so there will be space there too. The utility room (not pictured), besides having a washer/dryer, also has a full-size chest freezer, in case you like to buy a lot of frozen stuff (though the regular freezer usually has plenty of space in it).

Overall there is plenty of space for someone who has a lot of stuff. I didn't realize how much the previous roomate has; he has made countless trips filling car and truck loads of stuff, and still has a lot of stuff to get.

Sent you another pm.

I didn't put it there. smile.gif I bought the house off of the original owners (built in 1968), so it was granny and grandpa living here previously.

Kitchen doesn't bother me too much. Upstairs hallway paper really needs redone (good shape, just grandma-ish). Bedroom wallpaper, well, it ain't my room. Just like I told my part-time roomate Tim, you can decorate it however you want, as long as I'm not footing the bill. That's why his room is now a very dark red. Hey, whatever floats his boat.
