need help with a T-5

Well I am not sure what is going on but the tranny whines REALLY bad. My car sound like its s/c'd but its not. I don't know if its the clutch or tranny. I have the money to fix it I just don't want to fix what don't need fixed. Anybody work on these that could drive it and tell whats to do? Thanks

mine used to whine like a blower, then the tranny blew to pieces 2 weeks later.

so most likely u need a t-5

Every gear or only certain ones? Any specific RPM range or all the time?

Every gear but 4th and its all the time. ITs been doing it for awhile (few months). I know I need to rebuild my tranny I am just wondering if it could be something else that is whining.(clutch, rearend, ect.) Tahnks

mine didn't do it either in 4th, and that was the only gear i did have left. because it's 1:1 ratio. didn't hurt my clutch any when it blew up or anything else

Sounds like gear whine from the tranny to me. Something is misaligned inside, causing uneven surfaces to mate. It may be possible to salvage it if you stop driving it before it goes Kablooey. You also don't want to wear a new pattern into the gears, causing whine after it gets put back together.

If it whines in every gear but forth it is probably the bearings for the counter shaft that are bad.
