Adam
just put a new power steering pump on my dads jeep, it ran fine for about half and hour then started making a thumping noise when you turn the wheel, it doesn't do it as bad when moving as opposed to stopped, and when you give the truck some gas it doesn't do it as bad either, did i use the wrong fluid or is the pump bad, it is a remanufactured one, and i didn't replace the hoses yet, is there something wrong with the unit or is this just air in the system, it doesn't seem to affect how hard the wheel turns, just thumps all the way up through the wheel??????? desperado
work wheel stop to stop several times. getting al air out of the system. make sure that the belt is not slipping or jumping. Only other thing that will cause what you are talking about is a bad valve in the gearbox
