Tulo
I'm not trying to pick on Anthony (he hasn't even posted in this thread), but his car seems to be pretty well respected on this board, so I'm using it to set an example. The Civic was not respected by more than a few people. It doesn't make any torque, right? As a matter of fact, it makes less torque than Anthony's Firebird. It's weird though, because somehow, with less torque, that civic managed to run a second faster in the 1/4 mile. Could it be possible that that much horsepower is not "worthless" in that car? Must be. Originally posted by Andy F.: exactly.. IF he EVER gets it to hook up, which is probably hard enough after the 300 HP mark in that car. Jeffrey
yeah but no power till around 5500 is useless for the street. And yes it runs a full second faster in the 1/4 than Anthony's car, but with a 300 +/- hp advantage it should. Yes the car has impressive power but I would like to see something more than 200 hp BEFORE 5,500rpm.
Nate1647545505
I hope its got short gearing for that powerband. Very impressive, Biggggg Turbo, and bigg powerband, they key in making biggg power. Local Honda Experts: What motor is in there, and what was done to make it stable in upper RPMS? Guest doggunracing
LS block (1.8L non-vtec block), GSR crank, 9.4 pistons, I'm guessing GSR or B16 head. Stable? Probably only needs valve springs to go to 9700. Just read the rest of the thread and he's making the 802 rwhp on just 4 1000cc injectors. That puts his base fuel pressure at 100 psi! McGraw
The car is respectable for it's talents, but it's still just a Honda. and it's probablly best he doesn't have more then 200 HP before 5500 rpm, otherwise it would make it about pointless to drive on the street. Can you imagine trying to get around on Broad street light to light if he boosted at like 2000 I just think, and it's my own personal opinion. That making Hondas's (accrods, civic) Toyota's (Supra's, Celica's, MR2's) ect. ect... is simply a 'hey look what I can do' statement, which to a point is good but why not just get a 350 and run the same times for 1/2 the $$$$? I guess it's all personal preference right?

I guess it's all personal preference right? OR.....people have had the V8 experience and decided to go another route. In the end (if the car is done right) it's all expesive, 8cyl, 6cyl, 4cyl it doesn't matter. In a way you are right with the "hey look what I can do" statement. Being that these imports with 4cyl are deep into the 6's. In like what maybe 15 good years? While the V8's are in the 4's BUT have been doing it for 50 good years and 4 more cylinders to boot. Good = some technology to help out. So yeah, you don't have much of a choice BUT to look when they are saying "hey look what I can do!" tongue.gif

I guess it's all personal preference right? I dont understand you can justify your point. Your signature is quite the implication of "making a statement". I don't understand you you could even start to compare modding a supra as making a statement, compared to a 1980s rustbucket. I guess as you said though, opinion, opinions.
