BOV on an super?

I know you have them on a turbo, but can you have them on a supercharger? Someone keeps insisting that they are always on them but if they are, then why don't you get the sound with an SC that you do with an Turbo?

I have one on mine, it's called a relief valve. It doesn't make too much noise because we don't run enough boost usually. I have a friend running 15psi, and his is loud.

Yup, with enough boost is does. But remember, we've pretty much gotta be at WOT to make boost, so that's really the only time it blows off and makes sound.

Superchargers have a relief or bypass valve that does the same thing as a BOV when the throttle blades close, but also helps the car idle when not making boost. The air is usually also routed back into the intake and quiet, not to the atmosphere and loud like a BOV.

Tim's SS has a BOV, and you could definately hear it when he was only pullied to 10psi (which he rarely hit....which is good since he was running 10.8:1 CR on pump gas and a stock shortblock), and you normally could hear it if the car hit about 1-2psi.
