Buck531
Need some help here.. hoping someone can give me some insight. So.. I ran at trails this year. ran a 14.5 @ 96 with a 2.4/.5 60'. Then, a few weeks later, run a 14.2 @ 96 with a 1.980 60' at a track in Michigan. WTF? If you consider every .1 in the 60' is about 1.5 (approx)in the ET.. shouldn't I have ran a 13.8ish. Not a 14.2 The difference was in the tires in the 60' (of course traction too). The 2.5 60' I was running bald street tires. 22 PSI or so. the 1.98 60', I had MT sportsman pro's about 14 PSI. Weather conditions were about the same. 70 degrees on both times at the track.
MrMeanGreen
How about altitude? The density altitude factor considering the actual height mixed with the humidity and temperature can make or break your times.
Buck531
Not sure about the altitude. I'm guessing the track in Michigan was maybe 100-200 higher? I have no idea. Humidity. I think it was a little more humid when I ran here (NTR) as apposed to Michigan. It rained the night before here at NTR as apposed to it didn't rain all week in Michigan. Temp? probably within 10 degrees.
Guest BLUE BY U
your gonna loose some et pulling the 14psi tires on the big end. just my .02cents i would try more air in the tires to see if it helps, you may loose some on the 60 but pick up on et

I kinda figured i'd lose some in the ET with running the tires that low. I was going to run in Michigan with street tires just to see what I'd do. With the amount of power I'm putting down, I should be trapping 101-102ish. I dunno.
OGRE
how much wheel spin are you getting now? if you are bogging at all it will kill your ET and trap even more than wheelspin. A little wheelspin is better than any bog.
Buck531
Well, in Michigan.. i don't believe I was getting any wheel spin.. nor bogging down (I have a 3800 stall converter). At NTR when I hit the 2.5, I spun, and let off, then got back into it. So who knows. shrug.
SamZman
I think some cars benefit from some tire spin, it helps you get into your power band quicker. This is why I think sometimes a better 60 vs a slower 60 will still have a similar ET. And tirespin may also let you get a little more mph than you would w/ perfect traction.. Dave1647545494
gear ratio can affect your time alot too..
