Anyone get a salvage title car inspected to a rebuilt salvage?

Hi,

I havent ever heard of anyone doing this and I want to talk with someone. I am getting ready to buy a 240 and do the sr or rb motor swap in it. Only thing is that it has a salvage title and I have to get it inspected after I get the car up and going.

Has anyone got this done and know if they check for the cat or stock motor...etc....

Let me know, thanks!

What do you think about what I am doing? it is a 240 that had front end damage. I am going to replace with the silvia front end and swap in the sr20 at the same time. Do you see any problems? Did they inspect your motor and look around at emissions like the cat?

Thanks

they will look at all vin numbers to make sure it all matches up as well as all emissions. if you plan to do all of that get it back to stock first because im not sure if they will let it pass with what you plan on doing, you can always contact them and find out if you can do that or not. my guess is no

generally, as we had an accord we restored. They were more worried about safety features than anything else. Everything else can be reinvented.

but if the safety things are passed and then you get into a wreck and die because something wasn't done right and they passed you, than family could go after the county.

made sense to me.

Yah and we know how that car turned out!

just have all your your recipts if you put on new body parts hood, fenders what ever have all paper work there will be no problems on the motor we did a swap on a honda before inspection they didn't even question it. so if you do a front swap get a recipt even if it's a hand written recipt from the person you get it from, and i think it has to be noterized but if you call the state patrol they will answer any questions you have. and it will cost 55.00 i think thats what it was.
