Anyone have comments on comfort-level of of the GSXR-750 vs Zx-9R?

Looking at an 05 GSX-R750 and an 03 (new, but leftover) ZX-9R.

Coming from a 93 CBR 600 F2. Can anyone comment on the comfort level of either of these bikes? I am 5"7 and 170.

My wife likes to ride as well and she was wondering what riding passenger is like on either of these bikes. They obviously aren't long distance bikes, but for 30-50 miles how are they?

I dont know about those bikes exactly, but in general (same year same size) the GSX-R will have a more aggressive stance than the Kawi. (Rearsets will be higher and farther back, more torso lean, etc.) You would have to sit on the bikes to really decide what you like better. Definitely both will be much more extreme than your old F2.

As far as a passenger goes, it will probably be a sore ride after a while, but she will still want to ride all the time ;) Not nearly as cushy as your F2 (for rider or passenger).

yeah i would think the 9R would be more comfortable, but ive ridden an 04 gixxer 600 which the ergonomics r identical to it and it was quite comfortable in my oppinion. You'll get more for your money with the 750 imo. Its fuel injected unlike the 9R, and is much lighter. The 9R will have more torque, and probably better low end grunt, but i think the 750 actually might be faster, (correct me if im wrong).

my gsxr is very nice comfort wise. but the 05s arent near the same. in my opinion the gsxr is a far better bike and better for the money. but the krapi will be more comfortable. especially when it comes to passangers. my girl says she sits way too high to be comfortable.

jallen100 - you have one what sitting in your store? What store is on E Main?

Thanks for all the input. The GSX-R, while a REALLY nice bike, is also a little more race-oriented than I need (heck, I guess a ZX-9R is more than I NEED).

Believe it or not, passenger comfort is fairly high on the list. Although I'll be riding it by myself mostly, I don't want her to hate it so much that she won't go with me if she can. Then she'll be wanting me to get rid of it.

I Drive It, my Wife also expressed some concerns about how much higher the pillion is on the gixxer vs. the Ninja.

yeah for me my lady friend didnt feel comfterable leaning against me and couldnt lean down far enough and be comfy so there for it made it shitty for me to ride with her because of having to hold myself back against her. it doesnt help she is annoying as hell anyways when we ride, she always talks about stupid shit and i cant here what she says anyways.
