Wease
My boss here at work is having a problem with his 92 Ford Van, V8, fuel injected. He said it will start fine and runs well. He can drive it to the store or whatever, but after shutting it off, it will not start back up. Any ideas?
rl
Does it not turn over? If so then thats starter heat soak. If not I need more details smile.gif
Wease
Thanks for the help, Rob. smile.gif It does turn over, it just won't start again. Almost like it's flooded.
slow4now
He needs to figure out which part of fuel/ignition/air he isn't getting. Unless there is a hampster in the intake, he is getting air. So either he is getting too much fuel, not enough fuel or no spark. If there is no spark backtrack the ignition system until you find the "broken" link. In this case it's usually a bad ignitor or coil.Hope that helps.
Dave1647545494
most warm no starts on those are the control module in the distributor. I can test it free at advance auto for you.
rl
The TFI could be suspect as well. Will it start after cranking for a while? Tell him to hold WOT for a few seconds while cranking, then let off the gas still while cranking and see what happens (that will close the injectors, if its a fuel pressure issue will allow the car to build pressure, and in the same respect if its a flooding issue it will start as well)
