JaSSon
I'm expecting an Air fuel ratio gauge and pod from santa. Does anyone know if it is going to be a pain in my ass to install in my Stang? Or will it come with directions?
CornerCarver
There not hard too install. I haven't done it on a mustang but they all install to the same stuff no matter what car. And yes they come with directions.
Bahnstoermer1647545488
Yeah they're not too bad but as with any job, doing it right will take some time. It wires into O2 sensor, then you just run the wires into the cabin and mount the gauge. Be ready for pretty blinking lights smile.gifsmile.gif
Rayman
Took me about 30 mins on my teg. That included some drilling on the A-pillar.
stolen 5.0
my buddy did it in his 2000 stang, the wire from the o2 sensor goes into the ecu, he jus wired it in right there. didn't take too long
Nitrousbird
Are you not planning on staying N/A. Honestly, on an N/A car, they are pretty much worthless. You can't really tune with them, since they don't indicate the exact O2 voltage....not that you can tune perfectly anyway with a narrow-band O2 sensor, but you can get pretty damn close. The only reason I have one is for a quick indication if the car is going lean while spraying (also have an electric FP gauge as well). Boost-n-Juice
Easy install but a waste of money if you ask me. Especially if it's an Autometer. Get a EGT gauge instead.
JaSSon
Well, doesn't matter if it's a waste of money, because i didn't buy it. And no, I'm not planning on staying N/A.

Boost-n-Juice
Did you get it installed ok?
JaSSon
Well, it's installed, but i don't think tis working properly. It reads completely lean all the time. I don't understand it.
Rayman
It's suppose to bounce back and forth when you're driving normal. It's only useful when you're at WOT. It should always be in the green when you're flooring it.
JaSSon
No, it stays lean ALL the time. I don't think i've been running lean for the last 25K miles tho.
Doug1647545489
You probably hooked it up to the wrong wire coming from the O2 sensor. There are two. Try the other one.
JaSSon
Actually, there are 4 wires. One signal, and it looks like 2 grounds and one 12v+. At WOT it moves up maybe halfway into the Stoich section of the meter. Maybe I just got a defective meter?
Doug1647545489
Well I was talking about a GM sensor because thats what mine is so nevermind

I hope you know what that means. And if you don't, go to www.dictionary.com and look it up, or rent ANY old cold-war movie. The one with robin williams is a goodie. I forget the title. And yes, the owner installed everything correctly.
Lustalbert
not sure how your wiring harnes is, but: if you are running lean all the time, you probably hooked it up to the 12 v lead and fried the gauge. Mine did that after a 12v lead acidently touched it. it would stay lean all the time, and move very slowly. when you first start your car, it should stay rich till the o2 sensor warms up. If it isnt, then it is fried. Hope this helps
JaSSon
Before i spliced in teh gauge i spliced a multimeter in. It read between like .05 and .3 volts, depending on throttle.
