Berto
hey whats up guys thinkingabout buying rigsby's beater but i got a question today the car was being gay, a 1990 corolla, sounded like missfire, rigsby got new wires cap etc etc. and when we pulled the plug on one of the cylinders there was mad amounts of oil in there, doesn't want to idle now, runs fine at wide open throttle but mainly the idle sounded like it was missing. then after beating on it for a while, te idle was still rough but didn't sound like missing just sounded like a low rough idle.... any ideas on what it could be? nocab72
The gerbils that power it are probably just still hungover. Let them rest a few more days and I'm sure it run better then. K
CornerCarver
Was there mad amount of oil on the plug, or in the cylinder, or both?
04r1
Mad amounts of oil on top the plug, about 1/4 quart, LOL. I changed the plugs, wires, cap and the car still idles like hell. No oil on top the plugs anymore though.
04r1
Also, the car only acts up between idle and half throttle. At full throttle, it runs great.
Turbo Ben
Well, usually when there's oil in with the spark plug, that means that the seal around the plug is bad. You'll have to get new ones and you'll also have to get a new valve cover gasket since you need to take it off to replace them.
04r1
The thing is, it's not leaking oil onto the plugs anymore.
Turbo Ben
I guess you could always try to adjust the idle and see where that gets you. Also, check that air filter and put some injector cleaner in it.
