Mallard Posted April 10, 2002 Report Share Posted April 10, 2002 Ok, so I take my car in for a tune up 2 weeks ago and after i get it back I notice it stutters at certain times. Being away from home I could not get it back to the dealer until I put a little over 400 more miles on the car. I thought it was the torque converter since it would only stutter at certain times. Anyway, the car was takin in today and it was found that when they did the tune up they forgot to plug the wires back into my #2 injector so I was running on 5 cylinders. Could this have done any damage to the motor? I didn't think it would, but then again wasn't the principle of Caddy's 4-6-8 tehnology the same as what happened and that failed miserabely. Clifford Automotive Posted April 11, 2002 Report Share Posted April 11, 2002 I dont see anything that would be wrong with your motor internaly. If anything you should plug in the harness to your injector (which im sure youve done now) and reset the computer. There isnt going to be any damage though you should be okay. Guest nosthunder Posted April 23, 2002 Report Share Posted April 23, 2002 i have a 302 v8 and i had a cylinder unplugged for about 4 weeks before i noticed it and my timing was off 18 degrees because of it so i would definately check that but no other problems arrised.
